Hi, Here's my Modelhaus Cheetah long term WIP. I've opened up the hood and roof side vents to model the Cheetah in the photo. The hood vents will be blanked off with some depth and some detail to make them look 'real'. I believe this Cheetah practiced on these mags then raced (Road America?) in the rain on white steel (stock sedan type) wheels and rain tires. I going with the mags, they just look better! The Modelhaus kit is beautiful and an excellent value for the money. I wish they'd re-pop some more Cox kits! The tires seemed, to me, in size just a bit off and the re-popped wheels were just 'OK'. Round2 has released a great looking set of Goodyear Polyglas period tires. The size seems to be spot on for this Cheetah. They come with great tread and beautifully printed logos, but they have 'Polyglas' printed also. I took that off with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner and a Q-Tip (the two to the right). I'll use a decal or fine marker for the blue circle. I had a set of MCW resin mags in the parts box with great detail that matched the real wheels very well. I blanked off the see-through front chassis and will add a radiator out of the parts box. The solid areas of the chassis around the engine parts were cut out. This will make them easier to paint. Then I'll add a slightly spaced false bottom to give some depth to this area. I'm trying to add some detail without getting too involved. Well, thats the plan anyway, Sandy

I never got to see a Cheetah race Not a super fast car, but brutal looking. I hope Carrera continues the trend to selling bodies by themselves! Thanks for the heads up on this. Patrick

Neat videos.
Got to wonder about the Porsche Carrera 6 in the last one. Back in the day it could have run and hid from everything else on the track including the Cheetahs.

I saw one a few yrs ago at the Berwyn, Il. Labor Day car show. It was really a very basic, bare bones race car. I was surprised at both how low and short it was. They were always rare, not like the cobras!

Historic Racing Miniatures offer a full detail kit. I have seen it built and it is a great kit. Here is a picture of my kit which I haven't tackled yet.
