I bought this kit 20+ years ago and recently got around to building it. Box stock with the exception of a Tamiya seatbelt kit and Tabu Marlboro decals. The kit didn’t go together as easily as I would have hoped from Tamiya, but that could largely be due to builder error... Also, the engine cover was pretty badly warped, and unfortunately I was not able to get it bent back into shape as closely as I would have liked. Otherwise, it makes a nice addition to the collection. I have to confess to not being a huge Formula 1 fan, so it was only as I was finishing this build that I learned of Schumacher’s egregious move on Villeneuve at Jerez in this car, putting a bit of a damper on how I view the build. Ultimately, though, Schumacher was the most iconic F1 driver of my childhood/teenage years, so I’m happy to have this build as a tribute.

If its any consolation, the engine cover doesn't fit on mine either. Nice job though.

Nice paint job. What scale is it?

Thanks articwolf and Ismael. The kit is (unfortunately) 1/20 scale. I would have much preferred the standard 1/24. In fact, I had a 1/24 Revell F2001 kit in my hand at a recent show and talked myself out of buying it knowing I had this one at home lol
