I’ve been cruising eBay, looking at available NASCAR kits (damn you Adrian! ), and the Revell Dale Jr #3 Delco Monte Carlo has caught my eye. Are the decals in these kit fairly good? I’ve seen pretty good and REALLY bad from Revell in the past. I’d prefer not to have to track down some aftermarket replacements. Thanks! Ben

Depends... sometimes Revell would get important kit decals from Slixx, or other outsources. I'm not sure about that kit. How old is it? That will have a lot to do with the viability of the decals.

Scalemates has the kit as ca. 1999, so I guess I've answered my own question and can assume assume the decals are iffy. I've already spent a lot of time at Mike's Decals. He has all kinds of good stuff! Looks like he has the kit decals for sale separately. Jr's Oreo car looks pretty good, too. I have to stop, now. I have too many other projects I need to finish before I start another one!!! Ben

But seriously it's music to my ears because I think you might have a lot of fun making that kit Ben
I would personally agree with most here that Revell kit decals pre 2000 are very iffy ... just due to fading mostly, they still work but the color is brutal.
I would definitely have the patience to grab a set from Mike - You can't go wrong with Powerslide or Slixx - the 'Other Brands' as Mike labels them are the continuous sheet printed .. therefore you must cut to the edge everywhere ... like I had to with my Mustang Pennzoils .. but I used Powerslide on Chase's Camaro and they are just so sharp and bright and brilliant.
I think I've purchased about 16 sheets from him now haha!
