Well I have been very slack and not added anything to this build thread for sometime. As you can see painting is done, decals are going on and so far so good. Paint is Tamiya TS8, i applied the white stripes and then cleared in 2K so use as a mask to then paint the black. It worked OK, i just need to touch up the black areas prior to final clear coat. I wish I could see pics!

Very nice work Shayne. Why did you chose to attach the one section of the roll cage to the roof of the car?

Very nice work Shayne. Why did you chose to attach the one section of the roll cage to the roof of the car? It’s something that Clay and the guys at BAD used to do, and this one dates back that long ago. It is to get the cage well into the A-pillar rather than the usual kit look of it out too far.

I'll have to try that technique. I do like the cage as tight to the body as I can manage.

Thanks for posting this, Shane! Looking great! Is this the Revell 1/24 kit? I’ve been eying Jr’s AC Delco Monte Carlo kit for a future build. I’ve been curious to see how one of those kits goes together.

Hi Ben, yes this is the Revell 1/24th scale kit, I think it’s the Oreo car. Kit goes together very well and the one piece body makes life easier.

I don't know how I missed this until now. I'm building almost the same car, as we speak! Mine is the 2006 Budweiser car from Revell, the box kit not a resin body type. I notice there are a few differences.
cheers

Are you going to make the cut lines for the roof and hood flaps?

That gloss looks great. If I get through a painting or glossing session without a dust particle or two I consider myself extremely lucky. In the big scheme of things it's really not a big deal but it does lengthen the polishing process for a little longer. Looking forward to more.....
