AS per JC's request I am posting here my current NASCAR project.
I got this body from an independent caster - a lot of flash removal and 2 coats of primer and 6 coats of Tamiya Canary Yellow to achieve the coverage I was going for.
I usually buy the Powerslide Resin bodies from Mikes Decals - excellent bodies with a lot less work required pre-paint. Powerslide's decals are also excellent.
As mentioned I could only find this Livery from Patto's Place Decals and they are nowhere near the quality of Powerslide and are giving me some serious headaches at the moment as they reacted horribly to Solvaset ... Argh.
I've got a lot of work ahead of me to pull this one off given the current state of the decals, but I'm up for the task - I don't give up on these things easily.
Here are pics of the project's progress so far - please forgive me if I'm not the best at taking blog photos.
Well, I recieved my "NASCAR" kit. I bought it because its the right year Monte Carlo body style for what I'm planning to build. I will admit I'm impressed with the level of detail Revell has put into it, way more than I expected. We shall see.
I'm also surprised at how big the damn thing is compared to a Trans Am car. EEEK!
I blame Adrian.
This is what I will tackle once the Mustang is complete. I love it because it will test my ability to do the Green fade into the yellow.
I just received the Resin Body from Mikes - 2019 NASCAR Camaro ZR-1.
This of course will be down the road as there are still many weeks of work left on the Mustang ... and I have that Eagle to tackle as well!
