I saw those same sink marks and since they seemed to be awfully similar, I left them... but now I think I will fill them in. Also, I went with bare metal silver on the tub and I think it looks okay. I am glad you decided to join up! This looks like it is going to be a fun "group" build. What was the rational behind the super shiny disc brakes? Just curious... I have Molotow available as well as BMF. I bought the Shapeways 3-D printed brake ducts. I am going to do the valve stems and seat belts (I may also buy Michael's Goodyear tire stencils) but I don't how much further I want to go with custom stuff. Were you planning on leaving the front and rear wings with the kit chrome? Strip them and rechrome with paint? Or use Gloss Aluminum as was suggested to me when I redid my T4? Great to have an exchange of ideas! Thanks Patrick The super shiny discs are just the kit chrome. Since I managed to get ahold of the Tamiya p/e set, I was thinking of using those parts for the stopping surface after I strip the chrome. I'll try scuffing the surface of the p/e to look closer to the real thing. I've also got some belts in 1/12th I've been collecting. For the wings, I've got two sets. So I can experiment with different ideas to get them looking realistic. I'm thinking of spraying one in dull coat to cut down on the shine. The real car had fairly shiny wings. From what I can tell in pictures, probably highly polished aluminum. So the kit chrome is a little severe. By the way, here is a link to the pictures I have been accumulating.. public.fotki.com/2whl/automotive-1/reference-1/ferrari-312t/ Back to present day, I unpacked the pieces/kit to restart. If you want, I can scan pics from the reference book. All the pictures in it were taken back in the day. Keep me informed about the wing thing. I will still strip the kit chrome off. I have the gloss aluminum and did that on the T4. So let me know what you come up with... pics would be great!

Sure thing, Patrick. I'm thinking of starting out by dull coating the bottom half of the front wing to see what that looks like.

Thanks Joe. When I saw them I immediately thought of intake trumpets. I have gotten some work done on the chassis. I just need it to stop raining long enough to let me get out to the garage and do some painting. I decided to add some brake lines which the kit doesn't call for. The copper wire is from Michael's and the blue line is fly-tying tubing from a fishing store. The stock chromed brake discs are getting p/e brake surfaces with aluminum hubs. Stock piece on the left. Basic engine assembled and painted Testor's aluminum. 269

Looking good sir, I hope you put enough glue on the exhaust ports. When I was building the pipes and dry fitting them, they kept popping out. Also the pipes are a little finicky.

Chris, I did put enough glue on them. They stayed in place while I jigged up the pipes. And finicky is too kind a word for them. Except for the brake fluid reservoirs, the front end is done. I also got more stuff added to the engine. 371

Looking good. I was trying to be nice about the pipes...I had a few words with them. The funny thing is my wife over heard me and asked if everything was okay.
