Looking good Paul!! I almost think you where right to just decal over the kit chrome, it doesnโt look half bad.. Thanks Chris. I beat my head on the wall trying to get my 1/20th 312T to look right. So I just took the easy way out on this one. As far as using Indy Cal decals, I've got two completely different prep methods: 1- I have a small pair of very sharp scissors that makes cutting curves very easy as well as following an exact pattern. Most of the time I use this method and just cut as closely around the decal as I can using mostly the tip to make my cuts. The resulting cut is sharp, leaving no tearing of the decal film that I can see. 2- The old standard method of using a brand new #10 curved blade, not a #11 blade which makes tight corners a real choir, and just score through the decal film, not the paper. Then I cut our the decal with either the knife or a pair of scissors, wet the decal, then let it continue to release the glue on a piece of glass I use for this. when the decal has released, I use a needle in a vice and gently slide the excess clear film away from the decal. Then decal as usual. joel Joel, I have a small sharp pair of scissors also. That's what I've been using. Never thought of your second method. But it sounds promising. I'll have to give it a try. I got the seat belts mounted in the seat. Then the seat got put in the chassis. I'm slowly adding decals one at a time. The gray foam jig was meant to hold ship models at side angles. But it also works on cars. 1128

Paul, The seat harness really looks good. Great use for one's glasses. I wear two different pairs of bi-focals along with my Optivisor. Never thought of using any of them as a prop aid.

Joel Thanks Joel. That's only the second harness I've done. I'm still getting the technique down. Those are my normal glasses. They just happened to be there. I'll grab what evers closest as a prop. Since my cataract surgeries, I'm about 20/35. Whenever I want to see very close, I have a couple different pairs of readers down to +7.5.

Looks great, Paul! I admire your fortitude.
Is that an IndyCal set? If so, did you forego the small pinstripes on the sidepods?
BTW, nice finish on the paint. Really reflective! I can only hope the first round taught me some lessons!

I can only hope the first round taught me some lessons! Thanks Patrick. Yes, it's the Indycals set. I didn't forget the pinstripes. I'll take a pic when I get done. The paint isn't that good in person. I got lazy and didn't respray the red.

I'm getting very close to the finish line. I installed the rear wing pylon and hooked up the oil cooler. I also have the top cowling done. 1305
