Hi there, I recently retired and being in lock-down I am spending a lot more time modelling than I have been. I used to write articles on car modelling for a defunked magazine called Hot Rod & Customs UK, then I moved on to writing books about drag racing and the Rover V8 engine. I also compete in sprints and hillclimbing with a Triumph TR7 V8 running a 4.2-litre V8 with T5 gearbox and Sierra Cosworth IRS which we built ourselves.
In terms of model making I am currently working on an Alan Mann Ford Escort, putting a Scaleproduction big-block engine and gearbox in a Fujimi Ford GT40 MkII and a small-block in a Fujumi Ford GT40 Mk1. I've already put engines in a Ford GT40 some years ago and a Gulf-Mirage M1 but these SP 3D printed engines are another level. The detail is astonishing. Other projects include a resin an MGC GTS, a couple of Revell based Funny Cars, a resin Lola T70 MkIIIB, a Baja Bronco with loads if parts from Fireball Modelworks and a Porsche 935 (Revell) based Outlaw.

Happy to welcome you to the forum! Would really like to see photos of your 1:1 cars. Very excited about you modeling projects as well. I assume your Alan Mann Escort is a MkI. I did an everything I could throw at it build of the Esci MkII Escort you might like. Here is a link to the RS1800 build. race-car-models.proboards.com/thread/480/ford-rs1800

Regarding the Lola T70 resins, I have the original Mini Exotics MkIII, a couple of Lola Aston Martins by Tony Hill plus a few MkIIIB's and MkIII's also from Tony. I also have one by a guy, forget his name who was showing a MkIIIB at the IPMS show at Telford (I am UK based). They are all 1/25th. I also have a few Tamiya 1/12th scale kits and the Bestbalsa resin MkIIIB transkit from Belgium. I am waiting on delivery of some 1/25th SBC old school Hilborn injection systems from Ron Olsen at Shapeways to help some projects along.
