JC,
I've been following his builds since he posted his 1st one years ago: a 1/8 scale Porsche 908/3. What is even more amazing is that he doesn't have any special power tools, builds just about everything like engines, transmissions, etc by layering pieces of styrene. I figured that when he does finish a model that he goes on the IPMS contest trail, and then sells them for thousands. But he doesn't. They end up on a shelf at the race car shop he works at gathering dust.

His builds belong in a museum, they are that good.

JC, I agree 101%. I've never seen anything like what he does, and he doesn't think that what he does is anything special.

He was asked after his 935 what he does with his models, and he said he just brings them to the shop and puts them on a shelf to gather dust! Asked why he doesn't get in touch with Porsche and have them either buy his models or at least display them, his answer was that he was afraid that Porsche would sue him, which never made any sense to me.

If the Porsche engineers saw his models before the company lawyers did, they'd probably give him an award! Amazing work!

Ben, The members on the list that follow him, have been trying for years to get him to get in touch with Porsche. I'd bet the farm that they would buy his 2 completed models for a very fair price, and proudly display them. These are truly one of a kind models you'll never see anywhere else.
To be able to look at lets say a gearbox or engine block and then have the mental processes needed to visual how putting together different pcs of plastic can create that exact shade is just mind boggling to me. It looks so easy, which proves just how hard it is, and I've never seen anyone else do it.
BTW, since you've changed your avatar to a Porsche 962C, is that going to be your next build?

BTW, since you've changed your avatar to a Porsche 962C, is that going to be your next build? Joel Hi Joel, It's actually a Toyota 88C-V. The Grassroots Motorsports forum is having another group build, and I was still waiting for the Tamiya Mustang to show up, so I started the Toyota. It's a really nice kit! Of course, the Mustang arrived right after I started painting. I'll start a thread for both cars soon. I have the 962 on my to-do list. I already have the Lowenbrau decals and the IMSA conversion, but I'm holding off buying the kit until after we get the house painted & carpeted in July. Ben

This is incredible stuff. The patience and the dedication is amazing. Letting these models collect dust on a shelf truly is a crime.
I'd love to see pics of one of his finished models.

JC, Thanks for posting that 908/3. It's by far my favorite Porsche, and in my favorite livery. The build is simply outstanding in every detail. One would be very hard pressed to know that it's not the real deal, it's that good.

HOLY MOLY!
I'm only through three pages of this build and not only am I humbled by this guy's skills but I also am learning a ton.
He is a genius at scratch building and should publish the build for others to see. Forget selling the models to Porsche! He could make a fortune on a DIY for building engines, chassis, tubs, bodywork... the whole nine yards!
Where is he located?

He list his location as "Norwich" which I assume is Norwich, England but could also be Connecticut
