Nice detail painting, Art. That does look like a decent kit, sometimes Monogram can surprise you, lol. Thanks for your nice comment. Some are definitely better than others!

Wow, that is some detail painting Art, especially on those gauges.. what is your secret? Well, I do need a lot of magnification! It wasn't real hard, though, because everything was molded in white, so once I painted the dash black, all I had to do was scrape the paint off of the molded detail, and paint the flo red on the tach needle.Tthen I used a Molotow for the bezel and filled them with Liquid Glass.

Art, I'd say you're doing one heck of a job. The engine looks great, and so does the chassis.
Any hints on just what Salvino will be branching out to, and about when they will hit the market?

The modified is kind of a side project, so they needed someone else to fund it, which I understand has happened, so hopefully, we'll see that one soon. As far as other subjects, their pretty open, but not much is decided yet. Early on, they talked about modern NHRA subjects, which I would love to see. Here's the chassis with all the parts in it. ...And the tires. The chrome on the wheels was exquisite. They're real chrome, and not at all like kit chrome, and this kit was the first with a new vendor with even better chrome than their previous kits. The only problem was, I had to tone it down to have any sense of realism for this genre. They would have been perfect for a hot rod. Thanks for looking!

Looking great Art. How did you do the tire lettering? Thanks, Paul. I just used the kit decals. I coated the side with Pledge Future then laid it down, then hit it with dull coat and weathered a little.

Those wheels look terrific - man I love them ... honestly I think those may be the nicest wheels from this Era of Stock Car that I've ever seen! How did you weather the chrome wheels? what was your process? I'm very curious. And the body and motor all look very clean and some very precise modelling on this beauty - well done!

That's a fairly well stocked interior and the work you did on those wheels and tires looks very realistic Art. Great progress so far.

Thank you, Adrian! The chrome on these wheels was outstanding to begin with, so I hated to do anything to them, but all I did was lightly fog some Testors Flat Clear Lacquer on them. Very lightly... too much and they would just look like silver paint.
