HA! Those are not mine. Those are Michael's (vintageRPM). I was asking if they still survive.

GREAT builds and GREAT pics! Do they still survive? Unfortunately, no. At least not in my posession. I left them at home after college as I had no room in my appartment (or any good way to ship them to me). They went into a garage sale in the early '80s when my parents moved to Arizona.

Hello, Here is another one. This is a 1/32 scale Hughes 500 I built as a civilian chopper. I don't recall what model it is. Most likely started out as a Revell OH-6 Cayuse. But I don't remember much about it except that it was one of my first attempts of using masking tape for the canopy bracing. This must have been built in the early to mid 90's. Been 1/32 the interior has good detail. Box stock except for the tape glass frames and the tail number are dry transfers if I recall correctly. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Mil Mi-1. The first successful Soviet helicopter to enter production. This is an East German VEB Plasticart 1/100 scale. Very crude and simple kit, built out of box sometime in the mid 90's. I still have the box for this one including the weirdest and creepiest single legged pilot figures I've ever seen Despite been very small, simple and a rather crude kit, for some reason this little puppy has always been one of my favorites. Considering getting a better kit in a "bigger" 1/72 scale Thanks, Ismael

Ismael: I've always liked the Hughes OH-6 helicopters. They look bada$$ just sitting there on the flight line and you've certainly done a great job with your civilian version. I like that Mi-1 as well. I like weird / out of the ordinary aircraft as they make as big of conversation pieces as well as making a good addition to the display case/ area.

Hello, Still plenty more to go. This is the oddest of the odd. I had built a Miami Vice boat before (1/32?) but did not survive. I have pieces of it to convert to a 1/25 boat, a project that has been stalled for over 20 years. I also remember a PT109 when I was a kid and a race boat that has been in primer for 25 years. So this is currently my only "boat". I built it (most likely in the mid to late 90's) simply because it came with the SH-60 helicopter as part of a double kit. This is a Revell 1/700 scale USS Dallas. A Los Angeles class nuclear sub. Built box stock and I think this probably has like 15 parts or less. I kind of remember putting it together rather quickly. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Sure seems that you've built models in just about every plastic modeling class I can think of with the exception of Armor. What's equally amazing that you still have all of these built kits. Most of my previous modeling journeys have only fond memories for me.

Thanks Joel, Still have dozens to post here, but I am thinking of many built models that for some reason did not made it. Tons of cars, many helicopters, military and passenger planes etc. I also briefly delved into trains with a 4'x8' HO layout. Still have the trains, some track and some buildings somewhere. I remember as an electronics engineering student, I did my very own (and rather crude) derail warning system with LEDs that would turn from green to RED if the train was going too fast into the curved tunnel and could potentially derail. But when it comes to armor, my friends Abdin, Carlos and Ruben are 3 of the best armor and diorama modelers in the world. They always wanted me to get there. We even had a challenge once: I'd build a tank and they would build a car. We never did but we also tinkered with the idea of working together in a pair of "offensive" models to drive rivet counters crazy: A gloss red shiny blinged and pimped tank and a rusted cammo Corvette. I did build a 1/72 scale armored missile launcher but I have no idea where it ended up. I also have this stalled project since 2008 or so: The WWII German SdKfz 165 Hummel. But this is at the very back of the back burner. Thanks, Ismael

I've got a tank set aside for that very purpose. For a couple of years now, I have kicked around the idea of showing up to an IPMS contest and plunking down a Candy Apple Red tank with chrome barrel and drive wheels just to drive the rivet counters mental. I like the helicopters you've done. And the sub is cool also.

Hello,
Here is a quick and dirty video of my display case as of today. What I have shown so far in this thread is part of the top shelf. The top 3 shelves are mostly aircraft and the bottom 4 are mostly cars. I'm running into display space problems, especially when I look at huge 1/32 scale helicopters in the stash.
Thanks, Ismael

Hello, This one is for Joe: You can't have a helicopter conversation without a Huey. The classic old Monogram Huey Hog in 1/48 I believe this is a UH1-C The gunship version of the short body based on the 204. Box stock built... sometime in the 90's. I don't remember. I had built another Huey before, I think a D version, but it did not survive. Thanks, Ismael

I love that sub! I still have a couple of Monogram UH-1s in my stash. Classics! I'll eventually bash them with the Hobby Boss kit to make proper C models. I'll probably convert one to a P, too. That will guarantee Kitty Hawk releases a short body Huey, and as much as I hate that company, I'll still buy one!

Ismael, Great Huey. As I said before, you're a master modeler no matter what venue of model it is.

Thank guys! Bear with me as I'm about halfway there Here is another small one: Italeri's 1/72 AH-6A Night Fox. This is the TOW missile carrying version of the MD500 Defender built as the US Special forces - Arabian Gulf 1986. Built around 1993-'94. One of my first mail order kits and most likely my first Italeri (not counting the Testor's reboxed kits). Hey! I felt like stepping into the big leagues with exotic foreign kits! I was bragging about my "italian made" kit! I may have said "ordered to Italy"..... I was 23 so don't judge me Box stock build with doors open. Not that much bigger than the Mi1. As usual, decals are showing the age. During the cleanup I re-attached a broken ski support. One of my first bases for a model. The heli has been there since day 1. Thanks, Ismael
