One of my favorite paint schemes of all times. I know I'll never find or be able to afford a 1/24 kit, so I picked up this 1/43 kit when I had a chance. It was broken up but complete. I guess that's why the guy sold it and no one else would touch it, as it's a desirable kit. I did a "fair job". The decals were old, stiff and didn't fit well. I used a Tamiya spray bomb for the "Burple" color. It was as close any any of the custom mixes I found from the online sources and I had a can.
I hope to have my other long lasting project finished by the end of the month. I finally got my vacuuform machine running and got a good pull for the under hood support.

I agree, that is a great livery. Very nice build too. What did you have to do to get the decals to work?

Hair Dryer set on low, strategic cuts with a scalpel, and copious amounts of Micro-sol. Solovaset melted the decal, so Micro-Sol seems to do the trick. Still, it was quite a battle.

I've seen diecasts of this and unless you had something to reference for size it could be a 1/24 scale. I wouldn't know those were decals, looks just like its painted on.
What brand kit was it? Looks very well done as far as detail goes.

I have quite a few old Provence Moulage kits, and I would be very happy to get the sort of result you have achieved here. Very nice work, and good save with the decals.

I missed it first time through as well. Very nice work! I’m always impressed by you guys who get such beautiful results with these tiny little car kits. I’ll dive into detailing a 1/48 airplane cockpit without hesitation, but these little car kits intimidate me. As do the prices! Ben
