Paul, this looks great! So what will you do with the two I sent to you? Just curious... Drop a 305 Chevy in the back and call it an F5000?
Seriously I don't know. The Chinook mk12 was a Lotus 70 based F5000 car, or maybe just covert one into a 68 or 70. I have a 1/12th scale Chevy small block I can cast some resin motors from.
Wait and see what I have to work with, and I'm open to suggestions!

I really like the F5000 idea!! I subscribe to the theory that a good small block Chevy or Roush Ford cures most ailments.

Paul, Now that would be one heck of a conversion. Plenty of us guys would be following it every step of the way.

Unfortunately, the engine, transmission, and rear suspensions are finished in both kits. Sorry.

As they say up here, I'm winning, but the scores awful close. Almost done. The front nose carrier isn't fixed as yet, because for some reason, the nose won't go over it, and I'm baffled as to why. A few detail bits to install, but basically done. Except for the rear wing, which needs to be redone. But, perfect timing, Patrick's parts kits arrived today so it's easier to just build a new one. Thank you Patrick!!
There's just enough nicks and scratches to make her look like she won a few GPs
some brushed in Tamiya Smoke and flat clear just for realism
I always give the instrument a Micro Kristal Klear overcoat, seems to work OK.
Thanks for tuning in guys.

Hey Paul, that looks pretty good, better finish it up! As far as your front sub-frame goes, it looks to me like the top two square "hooks" aren't over the green-painted sub-frame square tubing (part E16, Step 22). Look at the pic to the left of Step 42 and you'll see how they should fit in. Probably lowers the attachment point for the wing rod inside the nose. Hope that's it and an easy fix! Keep us posted!

Glad to be of help! You can have a great garage diorama with all those pieces and parts! I look forward to seeing something very interesting!

or maybe the Chinook MK12:
or maybe I'll just design my own fantasy car

Fini. It turned out better than expected, not my best but not too bad, I hope. The rear wing is just tacked on, I'll swap it out when I get the replacement done.

Brian Hi Brian. Yes, the braces needed to be fitted, which they didn't because the front hooks interfered with the rack, so I trimmed them off. The problem was the fire extinguisher, slight angle change and it worked. Honestly, I'm glad its finished.
