Since Ismael has brought up sci-fi subjects, here's why I haven't been putting much of a dent in my car collection for the past couple of weeks. It's the new MPC 1/72 Space 1999 Eagle. It was a terrible show, but the Eagle was pretty cool. I just have to add some more stencils, finish painting the attitude thrusters, and do a little weathering. Then, I will get back to cars. Plus a few other projects. Ben

Yeah sure, blame it on me... That is so cool! That Eagle was the runner up to the UH34 helicopter at the hobby shop in Texas back in March. I had no luggage space so I could only sneak 1 model. I think there is a separate detail set for that with additional thrusters. Nice!

Yes, they have a set of metal engine bells. All for the low, low price of $100. Actually, that might be for the 1/48 kit; I can’t remember. What I’d really like to build is their 1/350 Klingon battlecruiser, but I’d have to hang it in the garage. It’s huge! Hopefully they’ll scale it down someday. Ben

I'm calling this one done, although I might go back over it with pastels around the attitude thrusters so it will look like they've been used. My photo rig has been taken down so we can redo the inside of our house so I'll have to make do with cell phone photos. Overall, it was a fun kit of one of my favorite sci fi ships. Now I just have to figure out where to put it. It's 14" long! The pod attaches with two Phillips head screws, just like the studio model. I wanted to be able to remove the pod and didn't want to see two big, ugly screws, so I glued some round 1 x 6 mm magnets to the pod and the ship. Now, back to cars (and Phantoms!). Ben

That turned out pretty dang good there Ben. I'm like you on the show but I did like the spacecraft in it.
