I think it was after the split. The split was in '96 or so and this was 2002 I think? I sit corrected my friend you are absolutely right - I think I had a senior moment there This is Tracy's 2002 ride - long post IRL Split.
Damn I miss CHAMP Car - in my opinion everything went south from there - todays indy cars look like Space Ships if you ask me ... I've never liked the new body style, but I'm pretty old school when it comes to the Indy Era I live for I think CHAMP car was the pinnacle as well.

Body got it's final coat of Metallic Green yesterday - its going to be very hard to lay off this but I'm going to let her dry for a week before I start to create the Silver sections - I have to try and do this because there will be a lot of taping off to create the Silver sections PLUS the flat black sections towards the rear and bottom back end end the car - very tricky taping is going to have to be done - VERY time consuming but essential. So I need this Green to be completely dry to the tough before I hit it with a layer of Future and then hopefully the taping will not leave any defects.
Waiting is not my specialty! lol
I managed to get the front nose nice and smooth (seamless) on both sides after A TON of filling and wet sanding before it saw the Green.

Adrian, That Metallic paint looks fantastic. Like you, I can't wait for paint to dry as it's one of the hardest parts of scale modeling for sure.

An all day tape-off and application of Tamiya Gloss Aluminum - finally found the Silver colour I was after ... Next is more lengthgly taping jobs to get the black areas under the front intakes and rear end.

I've had that "disappearing post" issue as well, Adrian. I have learned to write up the post, no matter how big or small, then right click and choose "select all", then right click again and select "copy", before I hit the "create post" button. That way, if it disappears, all you need to do is right click again and select "paste", instead of typing and linking all over again. I've done it before, thinking it disappeared but then see it got posted twice...simple enough to delete one of them.
At first I thought it was a problem with my internet provider but I guess I'm not the only one. Maybe something for Chris or JC to look into?

Both paint jobs are stellar. While the yellow is my favorite, I certainly appreciate the effort into the green/silver scheme. As for the post issues, I've had that in other forums, not yet here. I usually do kine Mike suggested: copying before submitting.
Thanks, Ismael

Thanks Mike - ya I did copy and paste but not into a separate document - which I should have done - my fault

Adrian, I always write my updates in Notepad, name, and then save just in case. I can't tell you how many times I've screwed up, and lost a long, detailed update. I never loose the quick, short ones.
OMG !!! the Cool paint scheme is beyond outstanding. As my pilot brother would say: Simply Aces.

I have had that happen twice, I hit preview instead of Post and had to redo a quite long post, thought it posted and moved on, now I am a little more careful, I will see if any other Board is having a similar problem I also had it happen while I fetched the accompanying photos, lost the text when I came back to attach them but did find it later and deleted the un posted piece. Proboards has quite a large forum on their home page that has thousands of post regarding problem areas and usually I can find a solution if it not just an ongoing Age problem with the author like my case.. Chris Ps. Fabulous work on the Paint on the Kool car I am in Awe on the masking work!!!!!
