This is an outstanding build that really shows what a bit of patience and a lot of attention to detail can do to a model. I have to apologize for my previous comment about " Being an Assembler" I think it was a bit rushed and done out of frustration since it take so much to add this kind of detail to the 1/24 versions. Chris has done some great work here and has inspired me to add certain detail to its smaller cousin. Paul has built quite a few MFH kits and I can definitely appreciate the work of all the Guys building 1/12 MFH kits, a again this is not the work of any assembler! Thanks for the lesson Paul!! Keep the updates coming I am really enjoying it... Chris

Gentlemen I really do appreciate your kind words. This build is definitely a good lesson on learning the art of patience. Not to mention dry fitting. I sure hope I can do this justice. Thanks again Chris

Thanks again Chris After what I went through with the Lotus, I feel your pain. I wouldn't even attempt that 917 you're working on.
My hat's off to you, mate.

I love watching this build and I love MFH kits. I can't afford one but I learn a lot from them. All that detail to digest and try to recreate in a smaller scale project.

Darylh, I feel the same exact way. Not much different then drooling over a BMW or Audi Sports coupe, but ending up with a Hyundai Sports Coupe instead, because that's what I could only afford.

Chris, Sorry I hadn't been following this until today... what an outstanding project and it makes me want to order that 156 Dino Ferrari tomorrow! But patience will out until a few other projects get finished like the 956 Porsche and the T2. I really want to get that one rolling but one kit at a time!
Great looking build!

Chris, I keep on thinking about the Dark Side, but in 1/24-20 scale only. Price is my major concern being retired, and the head of household finances watches like a Hawk.

Joel I completely understand, you should see the stank eye I get when I get a delivery in the mail😮😜 I may be fortunate to be able to absorb the price of this kit. I do know if I wasn’t , I would be still dreaming of one...

I spent most of the weekend painting this. Actually it’s the drying time in between coats. I used Eastwood’s epoxy primer and paint for chassis’s. Thanks again for your support Chris

Chris, The painted tube chassis looks darn perfect. Is the drying time between coats for the Eastwood epoxy paint very long? I've also never heard of this brand nor type of paint. Sounds like it's rather hard to work with.

Sounds like it's rather hard to work with. Joel Eastwood is a Automotive restoration supply company. They have all kinds of products for repairing and working on old hot rods and muscle cars. No it’s not hard to work with.. just spray can paint. But the flash time for the primer is 2-4 hours. I put on 2 coats. Then the paint is about the same. I also put on 2 coats. It takes about 6-8 hours until you can handle it, and it was still a little tacky in spots. So I just let it cure overnight. Hope this helps, oh yeah the paint ain’t cheap it was 50$ for the primer and paint 😮

Eastwood sell's a Alternator restoration paint that awesome, like Chris say's It takes a while to dry and their Carburator Restoration Paint is excellent of all types of Carbs since it is the actual correct color for 90% of all Carbs. Both Spray Can, Good stuff if you can afford it $14.99 a can but painting model parts it goes pretty far!I got mine at the Pomona Auto Swap meet at a great price .
