Greetings, Seen below is another 1:18th diecast project of mine intended to be a 1970 Chaparral Camaro SCCA Trans-Am racer. It's being worked up in anticipation of the arrival of a sealed resin version produced by Replicarz. I want opening panels, while $239.95 seems a touch steep for possessing something that doesn't feature such. The flares seen are fashioned from hand sculpted resin, the roll cage plastic tube with brass wire core, while the tires are Jouef Ford GT40/Gulf Mirage Firestones. The engine is a update GMP Chevrolet Trans-Am 302 small block, while the seat will be a modified Solido Meyers Manx early Corbeau design from what I can make out. Thanks... Mike K./Swede70

Great progress on the flares!
Firebird underneath not looking bad, either!

That's really one impressive build to date. The price tag really grabbed my attention for sure. Looking forward to following your build to completion. Joel

Greetings... This was the 1:18th Solido Meyers Manx seat trimmed down to better reflect what was thought fitted to the '70 Chaparral Camaro(s). The head rest was cut down on a resin copy, then shaped and blended to generate the results witnessed below. Pretty much what's called for and demanded. The bottom pad really juts out and up further forward, while the subtle seat fabric pattern will likely be done with paint. The unmodified Solido seat is seen right, while the initial trimming of the headrest and some blending of the much reduced padding performed on a resin duplicate is witnessed to the left. Further puttying and blending, while the upholstery tufts are gone. While seriously cramped, the installation of the same at present. Notice too how the exhaust dump indents are represented on the floor pan visible with the door open. Thanks... Mike K./Swede70

Impressive mod to an existing seat. The end result looks perfect. The last picture really brings your project into full focus for me. Just an outstanding modification to a diecast model. Looking forward to seeing it cross the finish line.

Incredible work! This paired with the Titus Firebird should create an amazing combination and fill a gap in the 1970 TA lineup
