If you haven't already heard, there will be no spectators admitted this year at Indy;
After being postponed in May, they were going to let 25% crowd capacity in this August for the 104th running. If you were lucky your tickets were to be sent the first week of August. I got ours August 1st! However, yesterday I received notice that now there will be no spectators allowed for the 104th running.

Jim, Not only that, but the twin bill for Mid Ohio that was scheduled for race #1 this weekend has been cancelled/postponed as the State officials have major concerns even for just the teams to be safe enough to put on the race.
F1 still running race #2 at Silverstone this weekend. Sure hope that the tire issue is resolved and the teams opt for at least two pit stops for tires. Also, Please Red Bull find the speed you need so that Mercedes just don't walk away with the race.

I read that at Silverstone this weekend the FIA is not allowing the Hard Compound tire but 2 softs and a Medium, thus forcing the second round of Pit stops. Watching last weeks race I felt they officials should have gone to Yellow flag, and forced the Mercedes to change tires ( unsafe conditions ) re-grouped the field and let the cars fight out the last lap or two. Now that would have been exciting, given that the top 5 cars were all Blindingly fast.. But it does sound a bit NASCAR too...oh well lets see what this week brings.. Chris

Sadly, this month’s IMSA races at the VIR are spectator-free, too. I guess I’ll have to watch them from my air-conditioned living room, instead.

Chris Chris, Up until Bottas had the 1st of the tire issues, the race basically up front was a real bore. Even Verstappen ( my favorite driver on my favorite team) said that he got bored as he couldn't catch Bottas and the rest of the field couldn't catch up to him. Even with a round of mandated pitstops, the top 3 would have pulled out a sizable lead in no time flat. From what I've read there will be 3 different compound tires, but each will be softer then the usual compounds, as well as bumping up the suggested PSI pressures. Some teams surely will try to just do a one stop race with the White Hards. I guess that the track temp will be a major factor in pit stop and tire strategies. Just not sure how you can "Nascar" the race so that there's more racing at the front. Racing Point seems to be pretty much to be tied as the #3 team to the Papaya Orange/Blue McLarens. All will really depend on whether or not Perez does in fact race. Latest that I've heard is that he has to have one more negative test. And it's anyone's guess to what Ferrari will show up with. Joel

Chris, I got it. I'm still betting that tires will be the major issue as those right hand turns really are tire killers with all the downforce that these cars produce.
