I remember the Japanese 427 Cobra in 1/43 by Superior that had an insane number of parts. This 1/12 MFH kit reminds me of that one except the 1/12 engine would be larger than the 1/43 car.

Interesting colour for the engine block. Nice! The instructions called for semi-gloss black but there was too much that was going to be painted that color. So I opted to go with a color that would stand out. I've spent a couple of evenings cutting out p/e parts and prepping them. And the first parts of the chassis are together. 299

Moving along real well Paul, Do you have a tumbler? If so what kind of medium do you use? or do you use pins? I have been helping my neighbor build a Re-Loading room and he bought a tumbler with several types of medium walnut, pins and another I can remember, most are used to clean spent shell casings before re-loading. He says I can use it to tumble my white metal parts. I have seen the results, on white metal , and they look completely polished. Just wondering if you invested in one? Chris

Paul, The chassis and basic engine really do look the part. But I must confess with my very limited knowledge, that engine color is a 1st for me.

I picked this color because I already had the spray can.

Chris Chris, I've seen both tumblers (vertical) and polishers (horizontal). I opted for the polisher because I thought the vertical tumbling might damage any fragile w/m parts. The polisher I got off of E-bay. It was $148...free shipping. But it didn't come with enough pins or the solution. So I ordered those from another E-bay seller for about $25 for both. Pic #2 is the medium I bought. It gets diluted with water, so that bottle is good for about 10 gallons of solution. I have a modeling buddy that brought his polisher to one of our meetings and we ran a batch of parts through it. That convinced me to buy one. But his was only a 100mm bowl, and since I mostly have 1/12th cars, I got a bigger version. My bowl is 185mm. 350

Looking real nice 👍 I have heard this is called MFH light... compared to some of their other kits. I do like the exhaust is white metal! And going to have to use that trick for the resin parts..

Paul, Just a great start to the full chassis and suspension. Gotta hit the Lottery and buy one of these 1/12 kits while I have any eyesight left.

Thanks guys. I've been spending time.....as my wife puts it......painting popsicles. While searching for reference photos, I came across this car. I liked the look of the wheels, so I decided to do mine like them. I've also been working on the body to get it ready for paint. 488

Paul, Nice choice. Outstanding wheels for sure, and in 1/12 scale will surely look spectacular.

I started by painting the inside with semi-gloss black. Then after touching up the outside, it was sprayed with Tamiya TS-53 Deep Metallic Blue straight from the can. The body has been set aside to fully cure. 561
