Ismael, I take a few days off for recuperation and you go and start a major project like converting a almost toy diecast C8R into one of your works of art. The stripping came out darn good. And those door seams are starting to look in scale with the addition of the sheet plastic.
If anyone can create a master piece, you're the man for sure.

Hello, So much trouble and effort and I still haven't got to what would be the starting point if this was a plastic kit. Over a week of work in the stupid door gaps and I can't really and honestly say I'm satisfied! After the doors I will need to focus my attention into the rear where the spoiler goes. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Now turning my attention to the huge mounting holes for the flimsy rear spoiler. Apoxie Sculpt and lots of filing. I miss styrene bodies Thanks, Ismael

Hello, First color check coat of paint to reveal any problem spots. This will be sanded down almost completely. ABSOLUTELY LOVE this color! Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, The color choice really surprised me. In the 1960s when F1 colors were by country, I believe that your color choice would be deemed French Blue.

That's looking great, Ismael! There was a C8 in that color for sale on Bring A Trailer recently. Some great reference photos: Corvette C8Ben

You do great work on fixing the die-cast shortcomings, Ismael.

Hello, Very close inspection reveals the reason why I don't like working on diecast bodies: The metal surface is not anywhere near as smoot as styrene, requiring a lot more body prep. Long story short this color coat is sanded down almost completely and the surface is still not where I want it. Considerable more primer and work is needed. Thanks,

Ismael, But the bottom line is that when you're done with the body, it's darn near perfect.

Ismael -- I love the Rapid Blue, you're becoming a Master at reworking these die-casts --you need to do a C8R next!! I hope we don't get shut out from the model kit manufacturers' building a version of this car --hoping they do the C8R, Stingray and the hopefully the new Z06!!
