Ok folks. Here's the completed chassis and interior. I don't have the wheels and tires on just yet because I like to do that in one of the last phases of auto builds. Just making sure that I have a good stance and no "three wheeler" look. The only thing I don't have pictured with the interior is the first aid kit. That will be fastened to the L/H rear side wall of the interior next to the rear seat.

Joe, The interior with those added details really makes it super interesting for the viewer. The eye glasses with lenses is a great touch. Looking forward to finding out what Ismael is going to be sending you. The body shell with that Matt paint really helps to set the mood for the build.

I'm definitely having some fun with this kit and the fact that it seems to be going together so easily helps in the relaxation factor. Getting close now I think. You really can't' see the weathering in this pic but it's there. Maybe it'll all show up in the glamour shots when I get to the end of the build.

Joe, I've no doubt that you'll beat the Maverick into submission sooner then later. Now get back to having some real pure modeling fun.

Looks great, Joe! I'm not too familiar with VWs, so I've never seen a 4WD version like that. Pretty interesting.

Still hammerin' away at this one. I've heard that this kit has windshield fit issues so I'm going to be working on that. At this point I'm doing stuff like applying the base license plate decals and then applying the numbers over those, final assembly of things like the engine cover, hood cover, doors and door panels and handles. All that knick-knacky stuff at the very end of a build that'll leave you sitting at the bench wondering what to do first unless you make a list. Hope to post updates soon.....

I'm trying to figure out how you fit 3 rows of seats into a beetle. - no, that can't be right!

Been a while since I've been active around here but have missed the place. I'll get to commenting on the builds that I was following and on others that I haven't seen yet. I'll just dive on in here and get started...... First off, it's that FFA time of the year again where we help our son take care of his pig that he's raising and trust me gang.....that's a load of work right there. Secondly, my wife got pulled over by our "horse doggy" a month or two ago and can't do a whole lot around the house right now. She's scheduled for an MRI tomorrow evening so we'll have some sort of diagnosis and a path forward soon. Lastly, my wife got Covid 19 a few weeks ago off to quarantine our whole family goes. Fortunately she suffered no bad symptoms but had a few days where she was OUT cold!! Good news was 1.) She got over it pretty quickly and now feels well, 2) I got alot of stuff done around the house and learned how to cook a few new meals. Bad news...almost NO modeling time. I made some modeling progress but it wasn't much. With that being said here's what I've now accomplished since the Covid quarantine has lifted: Windows are installed along with a lot of knick knacks on the body like tail lights , headlights, rearview mirror and little stuff like that. I was finally able to install the chassis into the body and mount up some tire/ wheel assemblies for it as well so she's on wheels now. The only real shortcoming I've found with this kit is in the windshield fit. Man......after all the good fortune I've had with it I found the Achilles heel in this model. The windshield.....good Lord the windshield. Make dang sure you test fit the heck out of it because you're going to have to sand the living daylights out of it to get it to fit right. I beat mine into shape but it was sure tough. On wheels....
