Okay guys... there is this dude selling hamburgers whose stand burned down last night... oh wait, that happened at Woodstock in 1969...
There was a guy in a Facebook group who found his dream 1:1 car and so he is selling a bunch of kits.
For $450 including shipping, I picked up the following (all Tamiya 1/2th scale kits):
1- Tyrrell 003 1- Ferrari 312T4 (white box) 1- Ferrari 312T4 (black box) 2- Williams FW14B kits (one in box and one nearly complete second car kit... I will inventory to see what is missing when they arrive)
I have already built the 312T4 (twice) and have the FW14B in the pile.
Talk to me if any of this sounds interesting or excessive!

Patrick, Nice haul for sure. I'm already looking forward to seeing the Williams FW14B and the Tyrrell grab center stage on your workbench. BTW, what car did the guy buy?

Over on the For sale or trade are some other kits. I actually have the FW14B in my pile and Chris Smith and I are negotiating for the two in this score. I will be looking at them when they arrive to make sure it truly is two kits worth of parts and pieces. Also, the two T4s will probably be for sale somewhere. One is the PE version in the black box. I really started it all just to have the Tyrrell 003 to go with my Matra and a new Tyrrell P34 with PE that I bought. I built one 30 years ago and it hasn't aged well. Thanks for asking!

Nice haul, sir! If you guys can't come to an agreement on the FW14B's, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring! I'd like to have one to go with the 641/2 (if I ever get IT finished!) and the T4 that I already got from you.
I did something similar last night, although it wasn't anything Tamiya, or 1/12 for that matter but....I happened across an ad for a local auction where someone was offloading a bunch of NASCAR diecast and plastic. After being in the business for awhile, I have an idea what some of these diecast sold for at the time and it looks to me like the poor guy lost his shirt. Action, Revell, Racing Champions, etc. selling for 5, 6, 7 dollars! And some names, too. Dale Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon...he had over 600 pieces listed, I dare say at least 15 to 20 grand at retail. He must have been collecting for years. I bet he was lucky to sell it all for 2 grand, maybe. Anyway, I won 9 NASCAR kits for a grand total of $103.00! Among them were a Darrell Waltrip 1989 TIDE Monte Carlo ($8.00). A Davey Allison STOCK CAR+ kit ($12.00), a couple of Alan Kulwicki cars, Ricky Rudd... all factory sealed. I've seen some older NASCAR kits, similar to these, selling on consignment at my LHS for upwards of 30 a piece! The most I paid was 17.50 for an Alan Kulwicki ZEREX Tbird.
I'm not near as big a fan of NASCAR as I used to be but I like some of these old kits and who knows, I may even build them one day!
Only problem is, buying and building all this stuff is taking up some major room in my one bedroom apartment...even storing it is becoming a challenge. As Sheriff Brody says, "You're gonna need a bigger boat.."

Mike_t, Very nice buy. Are you thinking about selling some of the Nascar kits? I'd be interested in Alan Kulwichki's Zerox cars if you are.

Mike, Nice haul indeed...
As far as the worthless value of NASCAR diecast and kits, you should see my storage area. If it was a 1990s Terry Labonte car, I'll bet I have the diecast and the plastic kit for them! And it is all pretty worthless. If I had known you wanted a DW Tide car, I could have thrown one in the box! LOL!
Joel, Is there anything beyond the Kulwicki Zerex car that you are look for? I have a boatload of 1990s plastic kits from Revell, Revell/Monogram, AMT/ERTL. I can send you both a list or you can look at my stash list over on Scalemates. I would really like to divest myself of any/all of it.
Let me know... I also have a ton of Terry Labonte SLIXX decal sheets.

Well, that blew up. Turns out he didn't have the correct wheels and tires for the Tyrrell which is the reason I started the whole deal. So I nixed the whole deal.

I have one that was built and then disassembled I can check it for the wheels and tires, although its an original issue from the 60's and no guarantee on the condition of the tires. LMK and I will look I also have a Lotus 72D in some stage of assembly , it may even be complete.. LMK if you want me to go to the shop and look.. Chris
