I've been a sierra fan since I saw my childhood hero Dick Johnson claim his first Sierra victory at Adelaide in 1987 at my first ever event as a spectator. I always seem to have a Sierra kit on the go at any one time and I'm always on the lookout for more Sierra kits. These are the most recently completed builds.
The Eggenberger cars from Bathurst 1987. SK Decals supplemented by my own decals to convert them to 1987 spec.
The Eggenberger cars interior.
Allan Moffat and Gregg Hansford 1988 Sandown 500 winner. This was also an Eggenberger built car and has the same interior as the two cars above.
I will post some more soon.

Me too Shunter. I would totally buy 20 more if Tamiya re-issued them tomorrow.
Here is the ANZ car of Allan Moffat and Andy Rouse that was entered in the 1987 Bathurst 1000 DNF.
The Rouse and Eggenberger cars together.
Here is the 1988 Bathurst winner of Tony Longhurst and Tomas Mezera

Lovely work. Those things were sold as Merkur XR4Ti's up here. They never really caught on much, pity I thought they were cool cars. Thanks for the posts!

Some more. Glenn Seton 1990 Sandown 500 winner. Robbie Francevic and Leo Leonard 1986 Bathurst 1000. DNF. XR4i kit with RS500 kit interior. I made the mistake of using the XR4i chassis which made more work for myself because the racing wheels and tyres only just fit in the front wheel wells because there is a bulge in the well that slightly interferes with the wheel, so if you are going to do a racing XR4i use the RS500 chassis. That's all for a while as I haven't taken any pics of my other ones just yet. Thanks ShawnS

Thanks again guys.
Like with almost everything, Ebay prices are out of this world. I will confess to paying three figures for the last one that I bought but that was totally a one off from a small business so I was happy to support him instead of an Ebay price gouger. I'm always on the lookout for more but I'm not holding out for too many to appear out of nowhere.

Hi guys,
Just a quick one. This was just completed a couple of days ago. It's the car that Gianfranco Brancatelli and Robb Gravett drove in the 1990 Bathurst 1000. They qualified 9th with a DNF in the race. The paint is a custom mix brown from Tamiya TS colours and shot through the airbrush and the decals are printed by Spotmodel from my artwork.
I don't know how I didn't get any pics of the full interior but here is some of the detail that I added inside.
The car was New Zealand owned and built by Wolf racing in Europe. It was a pretty famous car in its day driven by some famous drivers here in Australia and New Zealand and is still around doing laps in historic racing in NZ. Also If you ever get the chance to try Whittakers chocolate you won't regret it as it is fricken delicious and superior to any other brand. (unpaid ad).

Another great build. Where did you get the Ronal wheels? Thanks guys.
The wheels are a combo of the kit wheel with a Scale Production centre. Here's a Ronal rundown.
The 3 available Ronals are Renaissance (left), Reji (middle) Scale Production (right).
The Renaissance wheel was no good. The Reji wheel needed a lot of clean up and the centre wasn't out far enough and the Scale Production wheel was great but it just wasn't going to suit my needs for this build so I had to go it alone.
I removed the plating from a spare front wheel from a Sierra kit and then I carefully removed the spokes and cleaned it up.
I remastered the Scale Production centre to be thicker than the original so the center would have a way to locate onto the rim without too much fuss. I then cast some in resin.
I also made copies of the modified kit wheel. Stuck them together and painted them up.
As usual it was extra work but it's important to me that the wheels are as close as I can get them to what I see in my reference pictures.
Thanks Cheers ShawnS
