You guys may have thought of this already, but I for one am a bit tired of paying a ridiculous price for 3' of wire from the "hobby suppliers". So, I've been using these:
Bell telephone wire, 4 ply. $8.00 yields 50' each of 4 colours, which happen to be exactly the same diameter as Tamiya's ignition wires. Also easy to strip from the copper, yielding bare copper wire and coloured tubing, if you prefer. Has the added benefit of being solid wire, not stranded, so it stays in whatever shape you bend it. Any hardware store!
Fly fishing line, 2 sizes and colours (probably more if you look), $3.00 each at your neighborhood outdoor store, only disadvantage is being vinyl it's hard to glue (CA liquid works).
You can tell your wife how little money you spent. It might work.

I've used telephone wire that I had around our house from the previous owner after we bought it. I didn't know where to pick it up but now.....I know what I'm looking for. Thanks for the heads up Paul.
