They were a beast of a car, sounded great as well. Nice looking build Steve. That is very weird they supplied road tyres in the kit. Contact Tamiya and see if they will help you out.

Skyline GTR's are a very hot commodity, a real one can fetch big bucks. They're so popular in Japan a whole aftermarket sub-culture has developed making parts to "convert" regular Skylines into GTR look-a-likes. Personally I'd love one. A thing about Nissans, between my Dad, my daughter and I we've owned quite a few. 2 Maximas (him), a Frontier (daughter), a 240Z, a King Kab pickup and another Maxima (me). One of Dad's Maximas was a rear wheel drive diesel, the other the first of the V6 front drives. My Maxima was an oddball. It was the same rear drive car as his diesel but with the V6. He didn't believe me until he saw it, neither did his buddies. My parents lived in Connecticut, and that car was never sold in the US market. Canada only, I guess as a test for their new V6 motor. Tons of power, rear drive, IRS, 4 wheel discs, the thing was a rocket. When we drove down to see him everybody wanted to buy it from me. I should have kept it, apparently it's a collectors item today. One of the many we all would like to have back!

Sorry to hear about the tire problem but other than that (and I wouldn't have noticed the tires unless you'd pointed them out) this looks like a very well built and painted model. Great work.

They're full wet rain tires. Nice build Steve.
