If I put this in the wrong place, feel free to move it.
I have a couple different AMT/ ERTL kits with no instructions or decals. I am having trouble finding anything on the net that shows all the cars that were produced, let alone the other things. There must be very little interest in them for so little to be available. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Once I know what I am looking at, then I will know what I need. I have one molded in white, and three in yellow if that helps.
TIA

Hi Sam,
The easiest way to do this is if you could post a couple of pictures of what you have, then I could most likely tell you what you have. AMT had kitted a number of Indy cars over the years. I am assuming that you have the last kits that AMT did in 1988 and 1989, which were 1988 Penske PC-17s, 1988 and 1989 Lolas and the 1986(1987 500 winner) and 1988 Marches. These kits were kitted in white, yellow and black polystyrene plastic colors. As you can see without seeing them it would be hard to tell exactly what you have.

A follow up to Jim's post
If it's yellow, it's probably one of these
or
If white, maybe this
or
not sure of the colour, but
There's also Mario's K Mart Lola T8800 in white and Danny Sullivans Miller Penske, not sure of the colour.
They're OK kits but I always felt the Monogram ones were a lot better.
Hope this helps
Paul

I guess I'm a lazy guy! I didn't want to type the post all over again, but here is a link to a discussion of AMT Indy kits vs Monogram Indy kits. indycarmodeling.proboards.com/thread/1219/monogram-amtThe post is seven years old but I still think it holds a lot of merit. Jim

I was able to match things up and found that all three of my molded in yellow cars are the Penske one, and that I can get new decals for them. The white one is the Newman Haas K-mart Lola t-8800. Looks like I can get Domino's Pizza decals for it. Are there any other liveries available for either of these? I would even be glad to find kit decals someone might have laying around. I also need some tires, and a chrome tree for the Lola unless I build it curbside.
Thanks for the info.

The scales don't bother me, they're both too small for my liking. Ideally a cross between the two makes would be best. I agree the AMT bodies are more accurate (except the parts rarely line up properly), but I think the Monogram has better detail overall. Either way you can make a nice model from either but both require a lot of "extra" work.
As an aside, I tried to use the Valvoline March kit to make a Galmer, but it didn't work.
