I am not understanding something about the design of the engine. It is an eight cylinder, why are there 8 exhausts from each side? Did I miss something? Is this really a 16 cylinder?

BRM's answer to the new 3 litre formula. An ungainly, overweight hunk of junk. Clark's win at the Glen in the Lotus was it's one and only. Although it did finish second, in an equally overweight BRM, at Spa the next year, to Gurney in his famous Eagle. More a testament to Stewart's ability than the car or the engine.

Is it an eight or sixteen cylinder?

As I said above: 16 cylinders, two flat-8's stacked and geared together.

Good evening, Thank you very much Mates! Well there we are ... It is over. I can call this one done. The two windshields are in place, riveted. The mirrors are painted, polished and installed using a bracket placed from inside the tub. I varnished the rear scoops and fitted them with the Dzus. As expected, only the right one is in place. The photos in daylight will certainly give another aspect to the model: we will see tomorrow. A small photo with some friends taken from their box for the occasion. A small comparison between the 3L H16 BRM and the supercharged 8 in line 2.3 liter has Bugatti. Let's concentrate on the next one. Pascal

Outstanding build, Pascal.
Are you going to do a build thread on the Bugatti?

What a cool collection, Pascal. I'm envious of the McLaren, I'd probably bite the bullet for that if I found one!

Pascal, Congratulations on crossing the finish line with another truly outstanding build. Your growing collection of 1/20 scale F1 cars is amazing, and all so far are from my era span of 1963-mid 1970s. I was fortunate to be at the Glen for the 1966 & 1967 F1 races even though it was a really nasty drizzling day in 67. The Eagle is still my all time favorite car of that era because Gurney is my all time favorite driver followed by Clark.
Can't wait to follow your next build. PLEASE do a full build blog.
Joel
