After working out all the seam issues, both top and bottomside here's the black basing foundation..... and the warble foundation pattern that followed. Followed by some highlighting of panel lines with some Stynlrez black primer: Here's the scheme I'm looking at doing, "White 3" from JV44 : and with the RLM 76 applied bottom side over the warble pattern:

Looking really good! Trying to control the temptation to go to the dark side of aircraft modeling again

Do it, Ismael! I've been getting back to building airplanes after a 3-year break. I'm keeping things nice and simple, only adding new decals, usually just a resin seat, and minimal weathering. I'm currently battling Monogram's old A-10 Warthog. Okay, so here's my Tamiya Me 262, built back in the early 2000s. Xtracolor paint, Cutting Edge slats, and I think Ministry of Small Aircraft Production decals (remember those guys?). I'm kind of embarrassed to show it after your beautiful build. This was my first attempt at the mottled Luftwaffe camouflage. I've always liked their air superiority gray early war camo. Go easy on me, guys! Ben

Ben,
Very nice scheme. That 262 looks great! Mine is just a box stock Monogram built in the mid 90's. Very simple kit that dates back to the 70's
Thanks, Ismael

Maybe Chris should create a aircraft forum so your builds have a home of their own here.
I haven't built any aircraft for nearly 4 years, but the urge hasn't returned as my focus is still on learning all the basics of race car modeling. Still, I appreciate excellent model builds no matter what the subject matter is. And you guys have all hit HRs out of the park with your Me 262s. And Ben, there's nothing wrong with OOB builds, as it's the overall presentation that counts with me.

Ben Thanks for sharing that bud and that's good go at the camo scheme. The splinter camo is no easy feat in itself and then add the mottle patterns on top of that. You've got no embarrassment coming with that build Ben. Very impressive in fact.

I had the camo scheme painted out but after looking at my references I just wasn't "feelin' it". First try...... So I went back over the sides in blue again and then came back over it with the darker mottle pattern but this time painted more of the sides in the irregular pattern. There.....now that's better:

That’s exactly the look I was shooting for on mine, but missed. Faded overall and fuzzy demarcations between the colors. Very nicely done!

I took a 6 year hiatus from aircraft building because I just didn't feel very comfortable with my painting skills with them. After watching others and learning over the course of the last half decade I've been able to add to my skillset some which is definitely helping me out now. I could use some more tweeking with them but I'm feeling alot more comfortable with my painting abilities now on aviation subjects.

I don't have many consecutive hours to paint, but I need to make the time to break out a paint target and brush up on my camouflaging skills. I'm regaining my technique with the Vietnam Southeast Asia camouflage scheme, but the faded gray schemes still elude me. Fortunately, with all of these car builds I've been doing, airliners will be a snap, now!

Ben, I always love your builds, as you and I follow basically the same build script. Mostly OOB but at times a twist to it.
