Thanks Joel, I'm fairly happy with the result, a wire here and there out of place shouldn't bother too much.
I do feel the problem here is the method, not so much the result. I'm working on it, there is room for improvement, a better and more precise system is needed. Such a shame the bare rims fit like a piston in a cylinder, just after the spokes are attached the inner rims have to be modified to fit into the outer rim. Good another car alongside this one needs wheels too.

UPDATE: Metalizer paints are needed, until now, most of the parts on my projects have been real metal, mostly nickel alloys. Covid-19 has all but wrecked this method for the future, since my retirement, no source available anymore for further casting parts. Only resin and styrene nowadays. So, I need some new paints.
Alclad and I don't get along, small parts have been painted with Humbrol Metal Cote, works too, but the availability in Germany is about the same as with Alclad.....lacking.
I found this on the internet, thanks to the Tube, I bought most of the metal line....AK-Interactive. Xtreme Metal. Airbrush.
I like. Super easy, doesn't stink much, for dull finishes....NO primer needed! Again, no primer needed on plain resin or styrene.
Here the blower on white resin.... The paint is called "Metal". Simple enough;
Shown here is a kit Revell chrome blower hat, just AK gloss black on the kit chrome....airbrushed with "Stainless Steel"..
The paint is a hit, my opinion.
Here the all brass wire wheels, sprayed with AK metal gloss black primer (a must for shiny metals), using the "Chrome"
Further on now, the chassis has been sprayed, again using AK, the motor is in the works. Nothing left to do with getting this car on all fours after the motor is done.
The body, later on.

Very fine work, sir. And thanks for the mention of AK Interactive paints- turns out I can easily get them here in Canada. Will try them on a little Porsche.

Mike, Glad that you found a paint that works and like. can't be that.
Those wire wheels, blower, etc. look fantastic.
I live in the Good old USA/New York so I do have several major online resources. I'm a huge fan of Alcad2 as you are. I've also starting using Mr. Color/Gunze Metalizers with very good results. Like you, for a deep shine I use Gloss black, for a dull finish I go with either a black or gray primer.

Thanks Joel, much appreciated.
UPDATE: Moving along now with the motor. The painting so far was for testing, since lots of manipulation now with fuel lines and such coming up, the paint has been removed....easy by the way with a cotton swab and thinner.
Some work on the front of the motor. The blower needs lots of attention as well as other areas up front. Blower modeled in bolts were shaved off and new holes for the brass bolts were prepped. New brass back-plate for the front gear cover, and various details.
Up to date now. The chassis has been painted, no pics yet. Already thinking about the body. Woody Gilmore used very simple body cowl designs....hence, for me, very easy to bend. No difficult multi-bends....so, I'm thinking about just doing an aluminum body and leaving it as is. I do like the look....
More later, Mike..

Mike, The engine really looks like it's coming together quite nicely. And those fuel lines really do kick it up a few notches. Looking forward to your pics of the painted chassis.

@joel, thanks much for looking and commenting. Still haven't decided if the lines will be painted. All depends on the actual look of the motor. 1:16 is new to me so I have no personal reference.
@afx , thanks for dropping in and for your approval. I'm with the zoomie pipes now, working on a better method to bend tubes.
@tatacorvette, you wrote this..."You can tell when people build with their hearts, not just their hands..." A humbling comment, that is graciously appreciated and applied to projects. I'm a master hand craftsman by trade and for 45 active years have nothing other than doing the best to ability. 4 years retired now, still happy that things are acceptable. Keep on working and trying to achieve a better result is a good motto and perhaps a great path in life.

UPDATE: Zoomie pipes.
Right side is about finished, the tip lengths need to be capped a bit.
Overall, I like the finish and the look. Right side though is problematic, can't get the radius any tighter and since the tubes have already been shortened, they won't fit the tube bender anymore....just plain dumb.
In the process of bending brass tubes right side....
More soon with the brass pipes... Mike..

Thank you Joel. Meantime, all 8 pipes are bent and painted as shown here, brass pipes.
UPDATE: Blower hardware and magneto.
New cap for the magneto and a few changes there, still needs black paint. Water spouts added to the heads and blower is bolted down and ready for the injector hat, fuel lines and barrel valve setup.
Irritating still, the rough surface of the resin motor, I should've tried polishing before paint....valve covers are not nice either, seems as if the "Donovan" covers have the street Hemi crinkle look.

Thank you Joel for your support and interest.
UPDATE: Further now with fuel lines, barrel valve and more for the motor....
Lots of photos;
Now here a small mockup...I feel the car is getting an attitude;
Next up is the fuel pump, then lines to the barrel valve.
