The inspiration for this build was my 1:1 vehicle - a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe, Arctic White, Heritage package, Carbon flash badging, machined face 'Cup' wheels and a two tone, 2LT interior. This is the last version of the C7 rear wheel drive Corvette.

Since there is no 1/25th scale model kit of the GS, Z06 or ZR1, this build will be a major kit bash using the Revell 2016 C7 as the base, cutting out the fenders of the Revell C7R and using the grill, side cove vents, rear scoop and other pieces from the 1/24 Maisto C7 diecast(which is really a Z06), wheels are from Plazmos(Cup wheels) and the custom badging decals were from Speedway decals, also used the spoiler, front splitter and rocker skirts from the C1 models. So hang on --here we go...

The biggest visible difference between the C7(Z51) Stingray and the Grand Sport or Z06 is the rear fender wide body, also the the front grill, side vent coves, rear xmission cooler scoops and the rocker skirts. I took measurements from the 1:1, fender width of both the front and rear and then checked the scale width of the C7R kit and the measurements were very close --so let the surgery begin!

Ismael and Mustang '89 --thx for the comments --anther update on the build. I grafted on the C7R fenders and rocker panels to the C7 stingray and opened up the front grill, top rear fender extractors and the side coves. These cutouts will be fitted with the modified parts from the Maisto1/24 diecast(front grill, side coves and air extractors). la

after grafting the C7R fenders and rockers and keeping the C7 stingray stock wheel arch(so I could use the side signal light indicator) --a lot of filling and filing to get this to fit correctly

Front grill from the diecast was modified to fit the 1/25 scale grill opening -- this is the correct grill for the GS

Working on the 'stage 1' spoiler -- used the C1 kits spoiler with the Revell stingray spoiler and some photoetched bolts to create the Stage 1 Spoiler

JC - -thx for the comments, the body mods were certainly a challenge -- speaking of which, the side coves! The side coves from the Maisto(1/24) were depicting a Z06 not a GS, so the cove needed to be modified, such that the 'GS' logo trim needed to be more centered in the middle of the cove --I first sanded down the original 'Z06' section and then added a piece of strip styrene, to replicate the trim.

The next big challenge and one that will be very visible on the finished model, is the side cove trim, which is very prominent and exclusive to the GS. I took the dimensions from the 1:1 and also used a photo reduced image of the side vent trim and then cut 1/2 round styrene and strip styrene with mitered cut ends and superglued together, and sanded until they looked about the proper scale.

This is what the 1:1 side cove and trim looks like and what I was trying to achieve. The GS logo were decals made by Speedway Decals, which you will see later.
