Ooooo, the Tamiya 911 GT1! A friend built one many years ago and said it was a great kit.

Ben, Glad to hear that. So far I've just started with the focus on the bodywork. How could it be anything but great molded by Tamiya.
Will be stripping the paint and that nasty primer off this week, and I've ordered additional paint from Gravity along with other colors I need plus a few other things. If the stripping works, then the Lola will be up right after the 911. Well, that's the plan, subject to change as usual.

Have no fear guys, as Hollywood said: What Lola wants, Lola always gets. So she shall once again be on my bench as long as I get that pesky primer off. If the Denature Alcohol doesn't work, I'm sure that our collective minds will come up with the proper stripper.

Comes in a purple bottle at any auto parts store or even Wal Mart sometimes. It's a cleaner/degreaser and given enough soak time will remove just about anything - toothbrush scrub may be required. So effective I've stopped using all the others. Caution, also removes chrome!
Maybe these Lola's are jinxed, I had to strip and repaint mine too.

Paul, If the Denature Alcohol bath doesn't work on the primer, then I'll hunt up the Super Clean/Castrol Super Clean and hopefully that will do the trick.
Never thought of Jinxed. More to the tune of another one of my specialty screw ups.

JC, It's my own fault by not sticking with what has always worked for me. I just should have not used a product i wasn't familar with and continued my search for my go to primer. All isn't lost as I'll get all the parts stripped over the next few weeks, and readied for repriming. As you can tell by my Avatar picture, what my current will be. Joel Joel I would be so excited to see how this build will go for you - I have been contemplating picking gone up myself but was holding off for the same reasons as you - it being a snap fit - not that I couldn't modify and scratch build around it - I just never got around to grabbing one so I am hoping you haven't given up on this baby and that you are just waiting on those supplies Fill me in!

Adrian, I've shelved this build, and honestly I'm not planning on revisiting it any time soon. Right now I'm building the Tamiya 1/20 scale Martini Lotus 1979 type 79 F1 car.
