I dread making seatbelt harnesses. I have resorted to a combination of decals (shoulder belts on the co-driver seat) and belts flopped over the edges or dropped behind the seat.

Patrick Yep, it's the final results that count. But what we can get away with in the smaller scales, you can't working in 1/12 scale as details really pop. Those belt adjusters are a perfect example, mine aren't accurate in that I couldn't use the middle bar no matter how I tried. I ended up as usual looping it around the lower part of the latch.

JC, You double harness assemblies look perfect. I can't tell if they're decals or not. Are you cutting out the decals and gluing them on rather then using them as decals?

Joel, I have seen them glued with the paper backing still in-place. I chose to apply them as decals directly to the seat. I made the straps extending back to the anchor point from craft paper colored with a red Sharpie.

I like doing harnesses out of masking tape. This is the blue GT3 Porsche built back in 2007 Thanks, Ismael

Guys, I'm liking all these options, and as a added bonus I'll just have to buy the hardware in multi packs.

As with all builds, they have a start from the Green flag, and most do cross the finish line with hopefully the checked flag flying. And so my Porsche 911 GT1 crossed the finish line late last night. Since my last update all the various misc parts like lights, lenses, rear bumper, antenna, windshield wipers, mirrors, door handles, the rubber window trim either inside or outside, and the windshield sun shade decal that had its issues due to the fact that it goes right over the start of the air induction intake. Took two light applications of Solvaset to snug down into all the seams. The front body shell needed a lot of tender loving care and coaxing to settle down on to the chassis, as all the various layers of paint just added to a way to snug of a fit. Finally, it did settle in. I’m still working on both body shells for a better fit. Both are just dry fitted in the pictures as the engine compartment clip needs to be removable. You’ll notice on the two rear tires all those strange sanding marks as I tried to completely remove the center molding seam. Never quite seen anything like that before, so I stopped and left it as is as once the rear clip is on, you can’t see the tops of the tires Here’s a dozen pictures of the finished Porsche as she now sits on the base of her own display case. And thanks to all of you that have followed the build, and posted a comment, I can assure you that it’s greatly appreciated. joel

Joel,
That came out GREAT! All the little details add up to a great visual punch. Love the antenna, the tires, the wheels, the engine details, exhaust etc. and of course a beautiful body with a catching livery! Well done my friend! Love it!
Thanks, Ismael
