Ben, I'd say for sure that your build just puts mine to shame. I never knew about the clear Gorilla glue. I've got the Testors glass glue and I'm not that thrilled with it.
Paul, Not so sure that cutting out a mask for the white circles will work on those doors. I'd go the other way and prime in white, then a circle mask. Hopefully it will keep it's shape, but it's not going to be easy. You can always defer to our master masker: Ismael for guidance.

That's why I said I'd try it on something else, like simple!! I doubt I could get two decals to lie on top of each other on the Ferrari doors. Not my strong suit, as you know.

Calling this one done. The day after I glued the headlight covers on, I realized I had forgotten the two little turn signal lights. I'm leaving them off, because I'm afraid I'd damage the covers if I tried to pop them off. Still a fun build, with not too many tricky parts. I think for the number plates, painting the body white and then using discs of tape to mask them before painting the red might be the best approach. Then just cut out the numbers and apply them. It would be pretty difficult to try to line up two decals over the compound curves of the doors. Ben

That is so sweet & sexy, I had to order one for myself! If mine looks half as good as yours I'd be thrilled. Very nicely done!

I've had one on order for a while now. Shipping from Japan, I'll get it eventually. Also on order is the engine/transaxle, going to try a more detailed build, simply because I love the car and I can get most of the correct bits. I think I'm going to ask for some extra white rondels and maybe double up the decals, I'm with Joel on "can I paint a round circle on that contour?" Umm, nope!
We shall see, I'll be happy if it looks anywhere near as nice as Ben's car, super job.

Ben, You simply nailed it my friend. I'm just super impressed.
Paul, I'm starting my search for the Ford engine/transmission AM sets as I have a few Fujimi kits still in my stash that I just can't build with just those cover plates that my 330 P4 and 917K have to conceal the completely empty engine compartments. Although, I'm thinking about another 917K but with a engine top plate to fools the viewer eye as those kits still pop up at retailers all the time.

The bad news is it's a Heller. The worse news is, I need another one to build the spyder that I have a body for.
I'm hoping the GTO engine + P4 transaxle = 275P if cloned in resin works close enough, but that's way down the road, if I live long enough.
I'm still waiting for delivery on a lot of odds and ends for these things, seems to take forever and cost twice as much these days. I should build something simple like one of my 1.12th kits!
What Ford bits are you looking for?

Paul, There's a resin engine/trans/sus AM kit for the GT40 series. I have two kits but just want one at this point as time is no longer on my side. Like you, or more to the point even worse off time wise with Father Time and the Grime Reaper.

I thought that we are supposed to be talking about building.

Gary, Paul and I are seniors. At 73 it's no secret that Time is no longer on my side. As for building, I almost always have a build blog going here.
If my post bothered you, please accept my apology.

Approaching 68 seems to have slowed me down a bit on builds... I now want them to be a lot better... but this damned thing called WORK!
And yesterday, when I didn't feel like doing a thing didn't help!
Ben, your build looks great! Great job on those white roundels and numbers. Cannot have been an easy thing!

Thanks! The white circles are just decals. If I had had time to put more effort into the build I would have painted them. I think that’s probably the best way to guarantee the whites aren’t pinkish. The topography of the doors would have made doubling up decals a little too interesting for me.
