It finally arrived! I always liked the look of this beast and lets face it, anything looks good in Martini colours. My first Italeri kit, just a curbside but looks nice and precise in the box - we'll see;
No engine innards, but surprisingly it has opening doors!
I hope the decals are as good as they look!
On the to-do list. Oh goody, another white car.

Isn't this a re-issue of the old Protar kit?

I'm not sure! I've heard both good and bad reviews of the Lancia. I think their 1/24 kits are all over the place accuracy & detail-wise, just like their 1/12 stuff (which I am much more familiar with). I did purchase their 1/24 Porsche 956 and was quite disappointed in that one. I've heard pretty bad reviews of their 1/24 Mercedes RW196 GP car as well, I'd love a good model of that one!

Having read that, I had to take a closer look. The body molding has issues, fixable with a little TLC and Tamiya putty. The doors will fit fine if I glue them shut, which I might as well as there's diddly/squat in terms of interior detail. The rest of it, maybe on a par with the Hasagawa Jaguar I did a while ago. As long as the decals are OK it should make a nice curbside model, don't turn it over. But it's a rare car to make a model of, so if you want one......... Then again, I've paid a lot more just for a slot car body. We'll see how it turns out - not for a while though.

All kits I have ever seen have shortcoming. It's an interesting car and the only plastic kit of it that I'm aware of. Build it any enjoy the process.

And I won't be trying my usual trick of turning it into a full detail project. I've seen "under the hood" of the 1:1 car and no way am I trying to scratch build a twin turbo V8 Ferrari and all it's plumbing! A curbside will look just fine........

But it's a rare car to make a model of, so if you want one......... This, and what Mr. Reckner said. I've got an imperfect, utterly terrifying cottage-resin kit of a Porsche 908 K (the one with the roof) laughing at me from its stash box. It's, to my knowledge, the only option extant in 1/24th. When I finally found it, after a couple of years of fruitless searching, I pushed the SEND MONEY button on my iPad so hard that I broke its screen. There is latency in every plastic-filled cardboard box. And there is the joy of contemplating how to bring it to fruition. This Lancia's an interesting subject. Ferrari V8? The drivers who got chosen to flog it around? The shape of the damned thing? Yes. Yes. Yes.

The best Lancia LC-2 I had was the Tamiya Tamtech Body, real nice, a few things to change because it was an 1/24 scale RC car body, sorry couldnt find a pic. I had the BMW GTP, 956, Lancia and the Ford C100...Sold them ...what's wrong with me? Chris
