Ben, Just love the big Merc's finish. Excellent paint job, and the decals came out perfectly. Like you, I'd love to see all white or very lightly colored decals over a bright or dark color have a just solid base color backing decal. But I highly doubt that's ever going to happen.
On a few occasions I've had to order a 2nd decal sheet from Indy Cals for just that reason, other times I just leave with the bleed through.

Thanks for the kind words, guys!
Joel, Indycals are inexpensive enough that it's worthwhile to buy an extra sheet if there are a lot of white bits. The other silk screen manufacturers I've used (Shunko, Studio 27, Hobby Design, and Racing Decals 43) don't have the bleed through issue. I'll still happily use SK's decals, because they're so good. If I decide to battle the Revell Ford GTLM next, I'll be trying some decals from Decalcas. They're surprisingly thick for "modern" decals, so we'll see how that goes.

Ben, Agreed. Will figure out the best options per build. Of course with my record, I'll still manage to screw itup.
Looking forward to your Ford GTLM build. Most have a pretty complete paint/sponsor scheme, so it should be another interesting build for sure.

Ben, Looking forward to it for sure. Your completing one build after another and I'm still very slowly plugging away on the Porsche 911 GT1. Feels like I've been working on this build forever.

It's because I've been neglecting the yard work to build models. Looks like this week the weeds are going to force my hand! Ben

It's because I've been neglecting the yard work to build models. Looks like this week the weeds are going to force my hand! Ben I know that feeling! I will have to don the old backpack this Thursday to do battle with the weeds in the drive! It takes about 10 gallons of water and weed killer or you can't tell the drive from the rest of the place! LOL! This will be first year I have actually done my weed chores on time!

Yard work here this week, helpers redoing the front formal beds from scratch as the bushes after 40 years are taller then the house. I'm not exactly looking forward to any of this.

I waited too long this year(again!), so I’m going to have to be really careful to avoid disturbing the bird nests in our bushes. They’ve gotten so dense and overgrown, the birds love them. Unfortunately, the HOA doesn’t.

Ben, In my case it's the older I get, the longer I wait to start, hoping that my wife will take pity on me, but so far no chance. I should count my blessings as we've had a lawn service mow our lawn for the last 28 years since my heart attack. The doctor highly suggested it, and I've never asked if I could start doing it all these years. Same reasoning for the snow blowers.

HOW DARE YOU talk about yard work in a modeling forum! HUH? I live in the tropics! Yard work is 12 months of the year!

HOW DARE YOU talk about yard work in a modeling forum! HUH? I live in the tropics! Yard work is 12 months of the year! I'd love to hire a yard service, but I'm too cheap. I'll happily spend a day under the hood of a car, but will complain and moan when I have to spend a couple of hours in the yard. Priorities! Ben

Ismael, My apologies for loosing my head on the gardening topic. Waiting for the crew to arrive to remove then put in a completely new Southwest themed front of the house bed that my wife wants. And what my wife wants, my wife gets. Just seems to work out that way.
