Has anyone tried this stuff? I think it’s a mirrored adhesive backed Mylar instead of foil. I’m looking for something to replicate the chromed stripes on my upcoming Magnus Audi R8 GT3. They’ll need to be ~3mm wide and run the length of the car. I’m looking for an alternative to Bare Metal foil, which wrinkles too easily. I’ve never been able to get the stuff to look halfway decent.
Thanks!

Never heard of that but it sounds interesting for mirror faces.
Thanks,

That was another reason I’m interested. That and maybe headlight buckets too.

I went ahead and ordered some to play with. I’ll report back.

Wondering if that can be used on windows for rally cars?

Ben, Like Ismael said, I've never heard of the stuff, and have a nearly perfect record of wrinkling every attempt of using Bare Metal Foil. Any chrome type product that is easier to use, will certainly be a God send for sure.

I developed an intense hatred of Bare Metal foil when I built a 1/32 Apollo Command Module for my uncle back in the ‘80s. I covered it with strips of the stuff, just like the real thing. Ugh. I’ve used it occasionally since, but it’s far more trouble than it’s worth.

I've had some time to play with this stuff. It turns out that I've used it before; Aoshima included a small square of it in their "99 Miata kit for the headlight reflectors. It's a thin, flexible Mylar-like material and does a pretty good job conforming to curved surfaces. For the headlights, I made a template from tape and cut the mirror stuff to fit. It just pressed into place without wrinkling like foil does. It's perfect of rearview mirrors. If I can manage to keep a consistent width when I cut it into strips, I think it will work great for the stripes on the Audi.
