Looks like a real fast go-kart without the wings

Paul, Truly amazing work to bring it this far at this level of correction and added details. I did have to laugh when I read JC's post. It does look somewhat like my very old ( early 1970) Enduro kart, but the engine/trans is totally different.

OK, just for you guys, the go kart now has wings and skirts.
Now it's a flying go kart:
About those wings. The Heller chrome plating is horrible, it looks like chrome plated plastic. Also this is an old kit, a lot of parts rattling around in the box for years, so the chrome was scratched to hell. Just for a joke, I sprayed a coat of clear on it (I was planning on stripping and re-painting them) and I got this. It looks like brushed aluminum! So I just decalled it and re-cleared it, I like the end result. Who knew?
Later.

well that worked Paul! Would you consider redoing the front wing with the kit I sent you so they look the same? The front wing has that plastic kit chrome feel.

Also those side skirts are done with Tamiya's TS83 "metallic silver", it's one of the best "raw metal" colours I've come across yet.
Have you ever seen a Ligier JS17? It was an evolution of the JS11/15, but with a Matra V12 in it. And I just happen to have a spare JS11 kit, and a spare Matra V12............hmmm
You know why I keep doing this? It's like banging you head against the wall - because it feels so good when you stop!
cheers mate

Paul, The "winged Go Kart" is looking really like the real deal these days. You're making excellent progress as the finish line is surely insight.
BTW, way back in time: 1971 to be exact, I was racing Enduro Karts in the IKF NE division. A guy showed up with a working wing, but the powers to be banned the wing ASAP as they were afraid it would come off during the hour long race, and someone could get really badly hurt. Last we ever saw of it or him, but boy did it look great.

Well, it's done, and I am glad to see the end of it! However, yes, it can be built (laughter), although it helps to be a bit nuts to try it. Highly recommended only if you a: enjoy a challenge, and
b: want a 1/12th Ligier model really really badly. It didn't turn out too bad, not a showpiece and many flaws if you look carefully - I could do better if I built another one - but all in all I'm reasonably happy. Some final pics:
Thanks to everyone who followed along, and for the kind words.
cheers guys Paul

Congratulations for not giving up! At the end it not only looks great but most importantly, your perseverance paid off.
Thanks, Ismael

Very nice build, Paul. That's a kit you don't see finished very often. Nice job sticking with it till the end

Paul, I'd say you did one heck of a job building a most difficult kit. The end results look way better then your modest description. I honestly can't recall the last time I ever saw this kit built.
