Hello everyone, this is the first model I've started building in probably over 10 years trying stuff I've never done before like wiring and scratch built stuff. I built quite a few of these kits in the past so I know the horrors that sometimes comes in these boxes. I have cut up the body to be accurate to what it actually is with the taillight section attached to the rear bumper. I want to add more detail to the fuel tank however I haven't found the right scratch materials to do it yet. I've got a couple more of these camaro's in my stash to do the Jamie Gallas and Ron fellows car.

Looks great. I built the Ron Fellows car a while back, I know what you're going through. Nice job!

Thanks everyone, Its been quite the relearning curve for me getting back into it. Sanded down the back of the rims to actually make them hollow and it really makes the spokes pop to me rather than painting the backing black. Unfortunately my chrome didn't come out smooth like I wanted it to but I think I know what I did wrong and i'll just chalk it up as a lesson learned rather than stripping it and totally redoing them. Still trying to find the sweet spot for thinning my paint as I'm totally new to airbrushing.
Tire decals were from indycals but i wasn't expecting them to be the entire sidewall however they actually came out pretty good. They didn't dissolve well at all with my tamiya mark fit strong but luckily I had a 10+ yr old jar of solvaset that still worked.

Those wheels/tires are looking really good! Great job on sanding the back of the rims. If I may offer a suggestion, a black wash on the center nuts will make them pop nicely.
Thanks, Ismael

I have the Fellows kit, I'll be watching this intently. Also, I wouldn't worry to much about the chrome, those wheels are polished aluminum.

John I have the Sunoco kit as well however the kit decals (while mine look pretty mint) are totally wrong and in this lime green/dayglo color that the car never actually ran in. I wanted to find the slixx decals for it but those are long gone sadly.

You might PM Chris Hale, he has (had?) decals for this version he might part with:

My plan is to mask and paint the yellow sections and then cut out the red on the decal sheet but thats gonna require some tedious masking. But I have decals for that Ron fellows version as well so if that doesn't work out or I cant find the sunoco slixx I'll just make that one.

sylphide, Please check out the TRANS-AM Camaro pics in the Reference Material & Photos section if you haven't already. I have updated most of them (getting rid of the photobucket watermark) Hope this helps...Lew

Fantastic resource and I have been looking at those a lot. Seems like they filled in the Camaro writing on the rear bumper and seeing as I screwed up my paint job and have to redo it I can now correct that
