I spoke with Curt Raitz regarding the MRRN Model Racing Replica News magazine CD and he has them available, they have all 41 issues and the index on them and are a great investment for the guys on here who build race car models. They sell for $18.00 inc. shipping in the U.S> and $20,00 inc. shipping for the rest of the world. Please email, ceraitz@gmail.com and ask for a PayPal Invoice, he only takes PayPal, and Curt will send one out to you. Chris

Well worth the small price for a wealth of information.

Subscribing to MRRN was one of the best things I ever did, modeling wise. Glad I still have every issue!

I usually have mine right here by my PC for reference but ? couldnt locate it, yesterday I ordered another just to have it when I want it. Buy one , if you dont have one yet. Curt will be selling them at the IPMS Nationals in Las Vegas. Go meet him, Art Laski and John Teresi , they will all be sharing a table. August 18 to 21 at the Rio Casino. I may make the run myself. I'm glad I was smart enough to get every issue back when. We had some good hobby shops in the bay area back then that carried it. We should try and have a get together at Vegas. Be nice to meet some of you.

This is so nice to see. I found out about and subscribed to that magazine near the end of its run, and just thoroughly enjoyed the depths of it- even the articles about machines I'd had no prior interest in. It was like being part of a weirdly-focused secret society. Skull and Con-Rods.

Morning Fellows, Got it marked on my calendar. I'll be leaving from San Diego. What's the best days to attend, thinking Fri and Sat? Anyone sharing tables? I don't have much. Getting a rental car with COLD AC, don't think my old SporTrac is up to it anymore (wish they'd get that Hi-Speed Rail in!) Thanx, John

I just talked to my friend down the road , a Viet Nam Vet, and he offered to drive up for the show on Saturday, not far about 90 miles for me. It looks like I will be there to see everyone. Anybody know what it cost to get in to the show on Saturday? Nothing on the dozen or so flyers.. hmmmm. Chris

According to the web site it's 15 dollars per day, or 40 dollars for a 4 day pass. If you are going to enter a model it's 55 dollars for pre registration, 65 at the door. You have to be a member of IPMS to enter.

Chris, can we please have no discussions of how people don't like or have been shafted by IPMS. I have quit two BBS over this already (mainly because I get sucked into a dispute). If someone doesn't like the judging, they can volunteer to judge - that's usually how aircraft guys end up judging cars, no car guys volunteered. Same with the magazine - you want a car article, write one. If you don't like the price, don't attend. Personally, I hate NNLs. Why would I pay an entry fee when I know I won't win one of the 3 awards given out. But I don't complain about it every time an NNL is announced. And I still go if one is near me.

Chris, those were good shows. My friends and I would go to the Chino air show on Sat. then the NNL show on SUN. It was a nice setting along with the car show.

As a vendor, I expect to pay for my table or spot, but I would not (as a vendor) attend a show that charged the public to get in, seems counter productive!
