Hello,
As some of you know, I've been a Boy Scout leader for about 15 years. I'm the proud father of an Eagle Scout and a Gold Medalist (kind of Girl Scouts equivalent to Eagle Scout). In the last few years, I've been slowly stepping back and semi-retiring to take my hobbies back after a very active and busy decade. However, the pandemic has hit the scouting movement really hard. Virtual online meetings instead of camping and outdoor cooking is not the same, by a lot. Now the challenge is to save it. Me and my whole family owe a lot to scouting. Time to step in and save it. I've been appointed as District's Activities Committee Chairman and my good friend and Scout brother Pablo has taken the District's presidency. We are not stepping down and we take this challenge very seriously. This is voluntary service. There is not a single cent in this. On the contrary, some of it comes from our own pockets. As I have said countless times: "Ask not what the youth can do for you, ask what you can do for the youth." Yes, that's an original quote of mine. Never heard it before
Don't be discourage by a few negative people that throw mud at everything. Scouting IS good. Please support your local scouting whether it is boy scouts, cub scouts, venturers, explorers, or girl scouts. It is not about making a better future. It is about making a better NOW and future.
As you can see I'm passionate about this.
