Surprise! What else would I be building. Let's see who knows their F1 cars.
Hint - it has an aluminum chassis:
and I'm taking my time building this one
It has inboard front springs
I'm going to try to really detail this one
I started July 1st, so 8 days to this point.
No prizes for those who guess right.

Tamiya Lotus 78 MkIII. Great start, looking forward to following this one, should be a LOT easier than your last 1/12 build!

You guys are way too clever.
Yes, it's a Lotus. Was the black paint a give away?

So it had to be the 78 I believe only MFH did a kit of the 79. Too bad, I'd love one but out of my price range. MFH make a kit for the 97T I might spring for but so far the prices are outrageous. I do have the new 99T on order if Nunu ever actually make it.

Tamiya Lotus 78 MkIII. Great start, looking forward to following this one, should be a LOT easier than your last 1/12 build! It's a dream so far. Most of my kits are really quite old and have been kicked around a bit before I got them. Scratched, parts missing, started, you know. I don't mind but it's more work. This one is like brand new.
The guy that sold it to me must have really looked after it!

Paul, I can't keep up with you build wise for the life of me. I mostly build 1/24-1/20 scale, and am retired. You're production just puts me to shame, and most of your builds are 1/12 scale.
You can be sure that I'll be following along till once again you cross the finish line. So far your detailing really looks quite good. But then again it always is. My only question is the fittings in bright Red. Shouldn't they be more of a Translucent color?
BTW, I'm going back to my original build plan I had till I got here: 2 tin tops, 1 open wheel. And I'm planning my very 1st 1/12 F1 when and if it comes out for the start of next year: the Ebbro 1/12 Lotus 99t. One per year will be it or every other year depending on how badly I get hooked.

Joel, I pretty much alternate between scales, and I usually have 2 or 3 kits on the go at the same time. On a 1/12th build, if it's a good clean kit like this one, it's usually 60 to 80 hrs to build. So 2 -3 hrs a night = a month, month and a half. There's nothing worth watching on TV and at 69 what else do I do in the evenings, lol.
As to the red, the translucent looks better but it doesn't cover over black. I may touch them up later.
Thanks for the kind words, they're always appreciated.

Paul, Brian's suggestion is what I always do 1st.
Gotcha on the nothing much on TV these days. What I do is record most auto races, except e racing as I just can't get into cars that sound more like wind up toys than race cars, and need to be switched out about at the halfway point of the race. Nascar races takes me a good 3 days to watch over 2 hrs or so in front of the tv each night before I nod off in my chair. I do watch ladies golf, ladies/Men Soccer, and major tennis as well, but gave up on Baseball as it's generally an near instant snooze feist.
I model and sim race (off line these days) during the day after I work on my never ending Honey To Do List, but it still takes me 2-3 months to finish a model which is basically OOB. That's how slow I've gotten these days as it's literally two steps forward, then one backwards from eyesight screw ups.
