Interior and chassis on the "low detail" build looks great Shawn. Very sorry about you paint issues on the high detail build. I don't have any possible explanations to offer.

Shawn, Egads!! what a tale of painting gone bad. Just one issue after another. But knowing you, I'm sure that you'll regroup, strip it down to raw plastic, and repaint to perfection.

Thanks guys. One problem after another is my style of modelling. Luckily I was blessed with problem solving skills and patience but I just wish I didn't have to use those so often just to enjoy a hobby. I am going to try to save it. I'm really keen to keep the white and black on the sides so yesterday afternoon I painted some Tamiya paint stripper onto the roof and gently removed the rest of the white paint without affecting the red areas. I'm going to re-paint the roof and then all of the red as the red areas that I re-painted came out slightly darker so it will probably be easier to do all of the red instead of trying to colour match.
Wish me luck.
Cheers ShawnS

Hi guys,
I have got the first one buttoned up and ready for the decals and final details.
After closer inspection I found some more damage on the body of the hatchback and it was then that I decided to repaint the whole body. The final clear coat went on today and now I just have to wait a couple of weeks to polish it up and spray the window rubbers.
I'm waiting on my decal guy to get the decals printed so I guess I just chip away at the interior and chassis.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter.
Cheers ShawnS

Hi guys. I am very happy to say that I have finally finished the first of these two builds. My decal sheets arrived last week and I have been busy finishing a few models so I will also post some other fresh builds too.
Toyota Corolla Bathurst 1985. John Smith/Drew Price Qualified 41st finished 17th. Winner of the 2ltr class.
I am yet to begin finishing the full detail car as my energies and focus are elsewhere but I haven't written it off just yet. Stay tuned.

Very nicely done! Even today that car is still very popular here, but the US version with pop-up headlights.
Thanks, Ismael

Hi Guys I have finally finished the full detail build. Here you go.
Interior.
Chassis
Everything else.
The final assembly wasn't without its problems and I had pretty much forgotten anything that I had to remember about how everything had to be put together but it's done now and on the shelf.
Thanks for the support throughout this WIP it helped a lot.
Cheers ShawnS
