I have always been a big fan of Fogged or Fade paint jobs, I met Gene Winfield back in the 80's and we went to his shop and he showed me some of his Fade jobs on real cars, what a pleasure that was. I did this 55 Corvette drag car it was Tamiya Pure White and I made the Blue Pearl from pigment and clear. I also did this 57 T-Bird for the So Cal NNL Theme but was DQ'd because I put the NNL on. It was the Best Custom hands down but... I didnt judge or really have anything to do with the Custom Theme but.... Tamiya Metallic Blue with again a paint I made with Pigment and clear to fog over.. Your Corvette reminds me of the Mako Shark Vette. I can't wait to see it finished. Chris

Ismael, even with the magnifier, you still have the eyes of an Eagle. Your 1/43 scale interior looks g-r-e-a-t.

Where did you find 1/43 Photo Etch for the Vette? Does the Monogram 1/43 Vette kit have it? or....... Chris

No photoetch. Everything here is scratchbuilt. The seatbelts are masking tape. Buckles are pieces of metal tape. Door pulls are flatten solder. Shifter is solder wire. Parking brake was carved out of a plastic milk container. Gauges are photoreduced pictures. If you ever run across a photoetch set for 1/43 Corvettes please let me know! I need a few of those. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, They don't let me interact with the other experiments... Besides, it is not like I would airbrush a blue windshield band in 1/43... ohh wait... Thanks, Ismael

Yes! I have that kit in line for this year. I actually have 2. One sealed to be built this year (hopefully) and a parts car that is missing the chrome and the P/E. May do a racer out of it. I wish I could get spares of the P/E. To my knowledge that is the only Corvette P/E set in 1/43.

Hello, This week's slower progress as I have been very busy at work. Body has been cleared. Let it rest for a few days before attempting polishing. The smaller the scale the more toy-ish heavy chrome looks. Compare the grille with an untouched one. Stripped the chrome, deepened the slots. Painted aluminum and added those vertical bars to hint the presence of hidden headlights. A black wash gets it home. As I said, the smaller the scale, the more toy-ish chrome looks. stripped, sanded and painted aluminum. More work on this later on. Detailed the one piece hacked chassis Lots of work on the shoes. Yes, they have valve stems. Stripped untouched wheel to the left. Thanks, Ismael

Did you check the tire pressure while you were at it? 😃
I'll say it again, your insane. In a good way. 👍

Ismael, The chrome treatment looks way more realistic after your magic touch. As for the tires/wheels, I had to look twice to find the valve stems.
