While reading a book on the GTO I ran across a similar picture to the one below of a car under construction. I decided immediately I wanted to see how the bare aluminum finish would turn out. Here are the results so far... Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

YE-HAW! One of my fav Ferraris. I think this is a unique idea and have never see this done! Cool!! I'll look in my GTO books and scan what ever you could use.

Thanks, I have the 2 "bibles" on the subject. The Bluemel/Pourret and the Pritchard books both titled Ferrari 250 GTO.

Great project, looking forward to seeing its progress. A solid pick for one of the greatest cars of all time.

Love it !
As one who often makes a living building or restoring race cars in full scale, a car on a chassis cart is a familiar thing. Perhaps too familiar, as I had never thought of building a model that way. Like when I was young, I didn't take many pics of road racing cars or the people who raced them that were all around me all the time. Now I wish I had taken a lot more photos then.
