I just found this thread. Really nice work and a great subject too. I have some of the coffee filters you described and was planning to use them for the same purpose.

Pretty In Silver? I finalized the body work , laid down some Tamiya white primer, 3 coats, wet sand in between each and then 3 of AS-12 Tamiya Bare Metal Silver.. so it looks great in Silver but alas it will get several coats of Tamiya Light Blue and then clear but it is making progress and I am close to the end..or not? Chris

Chris, it'd be interesting if you could make a 2nd body using Clear Plastic. Again, it's a shame to cover up all that wonderful detail.
