I finally gave up on my first paint job so it is soaking in the purple pond for round 2.

Sorry to hear of the paint woes, but you are really nailing the look. Very nice work.

Thanks Trevor. Happy to report the stripping went well and she is back in primer.

Thanks Art. From what I have read fuel cells weren't introduced into Trans-Am until ’68. The car I am building is from ’67. I am trying to figure out what the orange panel is at the back of the car. I assume it's some sort of protection for the fuel tank since the rear bumper was removed. It looks like a a flat piece of metal to me in lieu of an enclosure. What do you guys think? By the way, I think the red "bar" you see on the back of some of the photos is just the bottom of an ATL Fuel Cell dropping down below the bottom of the rear valance. The two black stripes are actually straps holding the cell in place. Hard to see in this picture, but the shadow you see underneath the rear of my original '69 Camaro racer is also an ATL Fuel Cell.

JC, I just read through your build to date, and I'm just completely in awe of your skill set, and dedication to this build. Looking forward to seeing paint job #2.

Thanks Sam & Joel. Attempt #2 on the paint job has yet to occur - hopefully soon however.
