Jack Brabham? Look how close to the track the photographers were allowed to get and the lack of barriers between the cars and the spectators! The car looks like it has a lot of suspension travel. I wonder how fast it was going when the photo was taken.

According to the info that was posted with the pic, it is Jim Clark, Silverstone 67. I agree, those photographers are close.

Wow, amazing pic, 2whl! I can hardly imagine the incredible rush from being where those photogs are, especially with heroes such as Clark going past. Thanks for posting it.

Here's a few with a racing theme. Joel Love that Stewart painting, Joel! In fact, last year for my birthday, I received a numbered print of that painting, which was also autographed by Jackie Stewart! It was a surprise gift from my niece and her husband. I had it professionally framed, and it's now hanging in our living room.

JC, I love that picture of Bobby Unser in his Riselone Eagle. Thanks so much for sharing it with us old timers.
Cameron, Now that's impressive to have a signed autograph picture by the Wee Scott himself.

I'm a big fan of Louis Klementaski who took full advantage of an age when you could get oh-so-close to the cars, although perhaps his most beautiful and well known image was taken at a distance (Fangio in practice - Monaco 1956):
Some of the images he captured can never be repeated (Brescia, Italy - Mille Miglia 1954; Gino Valenzano’s Lancia D24 passes Reg Parnell’s Aston Martin DB3S with LK aboard as navigator/photographer/chronicler):

Bernard, Those are certainly from a different time and place. My other hobby is photography, and like you said there's no way you can get anywhere near the track and cars these days. Insurance regulations as well as the track ownership keeps fans and photographers out of Harms Way as we would still try to get as close as humanly possible if allowed.
Every time I see film footage of Rallys where fans literally are at the edges of the roads and even on the outside of the turns, amazes me how more of them aren't hit and or killed. Joel
