So I have a mound of kits, and an upcoming model show at the end of the month, so we begin as always the motivated by deadline model thrash-o-rama Fall Edition (not to be confused with the one I go through at the end of Winter to get something ready for the Spring half of the show season). In this one I'll be tacking a whack at building the Porsche 911 GT2 Taisan Starcard straight OOB representing the #33 car as driven by Hideshi Matsuda & Kaoru Iida. Team Taisan had an interesting development at the beginning of JGTC - Japanese Grand Touring Championship - the forerunner of what would become Super GT. In 1994 they fielded a Porsche 962C & two Ferrari F40s winning once with each platform, that 962C being the only Group C car to ever win a race in JGTC. In 1995 they fielded this Porsche and the two F40s, phasing the two Ferraris out over the course of the season to run a stable of 911 GT2s. All of those cars would win over the course of the 1995 season the #33 car securing the first win during Round 2 at the All Japan GT Fuji at Fuji Speedway. It would be one of two appearances Iida would make with the team, both as Co-Driver, it's also one of only two races wins he would be part of over his entire 17 year career.
