Hello everyone, This will be my first WiP here, thanks to JC for the invite to the forum. I'll do an introduction shortly. Le Mans and sports car racing are my first love when it comes to Motorsports so for my first WiP I'll be doing the following. Starting this new build this week. Going to be pretty much OOB with the exception of the decals. I'll be using Patto's Place decals. So starting with this kit I picked up at HL on my trip over the border this weekend, And adding Patto's Place decals (this is an early shot of the sheet, Bruce has corrected some of the missing decals already) And in hopes, we'll end up with something that looks like this Bruce's decals are designed for his slot car bodies he makes, so here's hoping that they'll fit the Revell kit. He's scaling it to 1/25 scale and the decals have been ordered so I have about 2 weeks to get the body prepped and ready to decal. I have the next couple days off so I'm hoping to get a good jump on the chassis today. I lightly started this kit early this morning after getting home from work, so I'll post some progress pics later this morning.

I guess you must have a gallon of decal set! Crazy livery. My kind of weirdness! Patrick Covered..... Small update for me. I've read about some of the fitment issues people were having with this kit in final assembly so I wanted to test fit everything early on. I've got all of the main interior components in, cage (minus drivers side) dash and glass and so far, no issues. Everything seems to fit well. A bit tight, I'm going to have to create some tolerances for paint, but so far I'm happy. I also have the engine and airbox installed and with the hood on, everything looks to be where its suppose to. For some reason Revell detailed the crap out of the bottom of the engine (oil pan) and its completely hidden. I'm going to shave this down some so the engine will sit a bit lower and give more room for the airbox to "breathe". I added in the filler for the hood, the opening is smaller on the newer models of the car but Revell has it open more like it was on the earlier models. I think they did measurements off the 2014 car but updated the decals to 2016, hence the missing ground effects. Luckily, Larbre seems to use an older model, or at least a car that doesnt have the same aero updates that Corvette Racing is using. I had hoped to get to primer and paint tonight, but I just got called into work, so this is it for today. Thanks for the replies and comments and criticisms always welcome. David

Small update on the Vette. Long work weekend and didnt get much time at the bench, but I did get a couple things done. Wheels are painted, detail painting to follow tonight. Hoping to get the decals done as well. I did manage to get the leader lights drilled out on the doors and I still have to cut out openings for the tow hooks, and roof antennas. I also drilled out a hole for the rear camera/radar system but still have to figure out how I'm going to scratch that up. More to follow later tonight.

Thanks JC. I've got his thread open and am definitely going to be using some of Ismael's details for inspiration on my C7R, the camera being one of them. However, I dont have a lathe, so I have to figure out how to make it with some styrene. I have an idea, we'll see how it works tomorrow. Wheels detailed.

Dremel tool with a piece of plastic rod or aluminum rod chucked up and jeweler's hand files is a lathe.

Have you used the SMS Decal solution yet? I have some, havent really tried it , but I was wondering how well it worked for you? Chris.. I used it on my camo Corvette, which I still need to finish. It works fine. Smells the same as Micro Sol, probably produced in the same place... Going to get back on this one once I get the Larbre one finished.
