Picked this up on ebay, open box, no decals, for a fair price and went off to gather up as much info I could from various sources. So what I gather was two were built for the under 2 liter class to compete against the BMW's etc. One was built for the factory team and one for a privateer. The factory Martini Rossi team won a few races and the car was retired. Don't know anything about the private car. So what would be a plausible fictional build and story? I'm itching to paint. The kit is very simple and the directions are pretty vague and useless. Fortunately my common sense and trial and error fitting is paying off. The fit and finish is pretty good. Here a few fictional livery possibility. Brumos, the American team would be my suggestion.

What I lack in technical correctness I tried to make up in making it pretty. I will add the few leftover parts when they are pointed out to me or when I figure out where they go. Fictional build from Esci Ertl of the under 2 liter Racing Porche. Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Very nice model of a kit that you don't see built very often. I like your choice of livery.

The paint scheme is very nice. Modern race car color and graphic schemes tend to get WAAAAAYYYYY too busy. it's very often virtually impossible to figure out what company is sponsoring and what it is they are selling, when the race car is moving. And race cars get most of their public exposure while they are moving. A fact that seems totally lost on many graphics designers these days. Too complex turns into a meaningless blurr.

Rob, Very nicely done build of the Baby 935. Just gotta love your paint scheme as I completely agree with Dustymojave's assessment of today's crazy schemes that are way to busy. Plus you used #53. That was my racing and Football number, so I have a real fondness for all things #53. As a matter of fact, our house is located at 53 Henry Ave!!
